Top Seniors from Battle in the 614: Saturday

Going into the game you knew it would be a competitive game, and you know Roddy would show up. He is a player you have confidence and trust in. He handles the ball and sees the floor just as good as anyone. This year he has stepped into more of an aggressive and scorer role. He got to the rim well and did a great job of using his body. He puts a ton of pressure on the rim, and this creates good shots for him. He also went to the free-throw line a ton. He made big-time shots that gave Lutheran West a ton of momentum to start the game. He is a great catch-and-shoot player that makes you pay if you lose him. It's easy to lose him because he has great off-ball movement and knows where to be around the arc. He creates shots for himself without even having the ball in his hands. He gets his feet set and it's automatic. He got lost in transition a couple of times and made Harvest Prep pay. He has some good size and length and Calo uses this to be a factor on the boards and finish around the rim. He has some great size and length. He is an athletic player who uses it to his advantage well. He is a good defender that you can confidently put on other players to shut them down. He was a nice rebounder. He showed off the ability to score from all three levels in portions of the game. He is a great transition player that finishes high on the rim. He is a throwback because he is a strong physical forward but he does not run to the three-point line every time. He uses his size to be a monster on the boards and puts his head down to get to the rim. When he has the ball with a head of steam he will get to the rim and get buckets. He is a nice modern-day player because he moves so well and is versatile. He can guard and play multiple positions. He does a great job of playing fast and slow. He has a great physical build that he knows how to use. He has a good jump shot and skillset. He used his body to absorb and dictate contact to get to his spot. He then elevates high to knock down shots well. His strength is something that wared on opponents as the game went on. You did not want to guard him for a whole game because of his motor and physicality.
