The Springer Classic at Highland Springs took place the weekend after Christmas at Highland Springs High School, featuring six games with teams from all over the state traveling to compete. Here's a look at part one of some of the top performers from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2761905' first='Delwan' last='Waller'] | 6'3” WF | Thomas Dale '25

Waller was impressive for Dale in an exciting win over Huguenot, as the 6'3” wing did a little bit of everything to help his team. He was highly efficient showing his ability to drive in straight lines and get out in transition, he showed his ability to make shots from deep when open and was great on the defensive end often guarding the other team's best player.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763238' first='Leron' last='Pegram'] | 5'11” PG | Thomas Dale '25

Pegram was the straw that stirred the drink for Dale in their win, as he was the primary ball handler and playmaker for them throughout the game. He showed good shift off the bounce with the ability to change speeds and directions well to keep defenders off balance, he created space and made some tough shots in the midrange and at the rim and he got to the line often as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2761873' first='Trevion' last='Brown'] | 6'4” F | Huguenot '25

Brown played a fantastic game for Huguenot despite the fact that they fell just short, he showed why he's one of the more intriguing unsigned seniors in the Richmond area. The 6'4” hybrid forward showed his athleticism and versatility playing and guarding multiple positions, he scored it well in traffic and in transition when he got downhill and he was good on the glass for them too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2780042' first='Messiah' last='Jordan'] | 6'3” WF | Meadowbrook '26

Jordan is an intriguing prospect on a Meadowbrook team that is very well balanced which makes them a dangerous team to match up with, which they showed in their blowout win over Cristo Rey. The 6'3” wing has a blend of size and skill that makes him very versatile as he showed his ability to post up smaller defenders, attack the glass on both ends and get to the rim off the bounce and finish through traffic, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815342' first='Larry' last='Walker'] | 5'10” PG | Petersburg '27

While Petersburg struggled in a blowout loss to Trinity Episcopal, Walker showed flashes of brilliance as one of the youngest players on the court and is a player to keep an eye on moving forward. The 5'10” guard has a quick first step and tons of speed in the open floor, he's shifty and able to change directions impressively, he is an athletic finisher at the rim and he showed good toughness defensively too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2780068' first='Eric' last='Thompson'] | 6'1” CG | Highland Springs '26

Thompson is part of a Springer's backcourt that will be tough for anyone to match up with, as they have a ton of depth and and all of them can get after it on both ends of the floor. Thompson was impressive in their matchup with Stafford, as he showed his ability to work on and off the ball to get open, he made plays for himself and others in transition, he shot it well from deep and provided great on ball pressure as well. He finished with 24 points in their big time win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763229' first='Mason' last='Bracey'] | 6'4” WF | Stafford '25

Bracey has been one of the most consistent seniors in Fredericksburg so far this season, showing he's one of the top shooters int he area, and he came down to show Richmond that as well. The 6'4” wing wasted no time hitting 3 from behind the arc in the first quarter, showing his ability to work off the ball to get open, his quick release and his ability to make shots over closeouts with his size. He finished with 24 points making 6 three's in the matchup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2618871' first='Jackson' last='Wallace'] | 6'2” CG | Stafford '26

Wallace is an up and coming name in the Fredericksburg area to get familiar with, as he may be one of the top scoring guards in the area and he just continues to get better. The 6'2” combo has good size and a fundamental yet shifty handle to create space, he scores it from all there levels and he's a tough guard to speed up and force into mistakes. He finished with 15 points against Springs.
