2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1977422' first='Rio' last='Aguirre'] (Ankeny)

Aguirre was really good on both ends of the floor in the Hawks' upset win over Linn-Mar on Saturday afternoon, finishing (unofficially) with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. A skilled guard who can score from all three levels at a highly efficient clip, he has a smooth stroke from the 3-point line and his playmaking, ball-handling, and vision has taken another step this season. He was in complete control of the game on both ends of the floor, and even served as one of the primary defenders on Linn-Mar star big man [player_tooltip player_id='1381412' first='Davis' last='Kern'], helping limit him as well as any team can.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1288899' first='Xzavion' last='Robinson'] (Valley)

Playing in his first game of the season after missing the pre-holiday break portion recovering from football injuries, Robinson came back and dropped 30 points in his season debut. After winning the opening tip, Valley ran a backdoor lob for the 6-0 guard, who threw down an emphatic alley-oop dunk to announce his return. He scored 20 first-half points, scoring in a variety of ways while also showcasing his versatility and toughness on the defensive end.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1381415' first='Trey' last='McKowen'] (Kennedy)

In the Cougars' overtime win over Johnston, McKowen scored 31 points on 9-17 shooting (3-4 3P, 10-11 FT) with 4 assists. The tough senior guard was fantastic in the mid-range, routinely getting to his spots and knocking down shots off the dribble. He's a tough shotmaker who constantly has to find ways to create space and get his shot off over bigger defenders, and he's about as good as it gets at that in the state.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1643192' first='Landon' last='Davis'] (Waukee Northwest)

Davis put together a dominant performance inside the painted area on both ends of the floor against Senior, finishing with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 blocks on 8-9 shooting. His wingspan is overwhelming, and his timing as a shot blocker is impeccable. Trying to score against Davis in the paint is an extremely difficult task, as the Rams found out the hard way.

2025 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1381414' first='Jack' last='McCaffery'] (Iowa City West)

McCaffery has been on a pretty ridiculous scoring run of late, and that continued in the Trojans dominant win over Assumption, scoring 27 points, including 12 on 4-6 3-point shooting in the first quarter to set the tone. When he's making shots from the arc at the level he was on Saturday, he's nearly impossible to defend. His size allows him to get his shot off whenever he wants, and he has really good footwork that he uses to create additional space.
