Mita is one of the front runners for Central League POY honors and on Saturday he continued to make his compelling case for receiving that award. In Penncrest's win over Lower Merion, Mita registered 21 points and 10 rebounds. For Mita it was his second straight double-double (17 &12 vs. Conestoga). Against LM, this stretch-4 prospect scored at every level. His jump shot was clicking from all over the floor as he buried one three, popped mid-range jumpers and knocked down face ups. Mita also produce points out of BLOB sets and via the offensive glass. Mita's outstanding play is one of the reasons Penncrest has jumped out to 13-0 record.

On Saturday Nassry used his slick dribble drive moves as his primary weapon. He recorded 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a 53-51 loss to defending 6A state champion Central York. Nassry scored 12 of those points in the 4th quarter as he kept Parkland within striking distance of CY. When he got to the rim off the bounce, Nassry finished with either hand. Additionally, Nassry displayed the ability to get into the paint and then throw the breaks on for a mid-range jumper. This speedy guard with tight handles kept defenders honest by sprinkling in 2 made threes. Nassry was also a stellar 5 for 5 from the charity stripe.

Ralls has already received offers from several mid-major programs, but after his tremendous shooting performances recently, we expect P4 offers will be rolling in soon. For example, on Saturday Ralls pumped in 6 triples on his way to 22 points. Ralls was especially accurate on 3-point attempts from the wing. He also drained a couple transition threes as well as a triple after a filthy dribble, step back. In addition to hitting from long range, Ralls displayed solid court vision as he delivered a handful of dimes to teammates that led to easy buckets.

On Friday night Varella hung a 30 piece on Pennsbury (31 points to be exact) as HGP notched another win. During that victory Varella also cracked the 1,00-point mark for his career. What jumped out about Varella's stellar effort against Pennsbury was his ability to grab rebounds / steals, get downhill quickly and then pilot the fast break for scores or assists. His speed, change of direction dribbles and flawless decision-making produced numerous easy buckets for HGP. In the half-court, Varella scored by getting into the paint off the dribble for lay-ins. He also used the jump stop effectively and produced points off two feet.
