Mita’s play was a bright spot for his Penncrest squad. He is a tactician on the block and is very patient using fakes to catch defenders guessing. He also converted from behind the three point line. Mita plays with an active motor and never takes plays off. He is a tad undersized at the forward spot and can improve his later quickness. Mita is a priority for high academic colleges.

In 2024-25, Mita averaged 14.5 points per night and was a 1st Team All-Central League selection. After his performances at Session II of Philly HS Live, I have installed Mita as one of the early favorites to win the 2025-26 Central League POY award. Over the weekend Mita’s three-level scoring skill set was on full display against “national” level competition. This high IQ, stretch-4 prospect drained threes as well as mid-range jumpers. Plus, he attacked the rim of the dribble from the mid-range and scored in close. His polished footwork and court awareness enabled Mita to efficiently operate in pick-n-roll / pop action. Mita (14 ppg. & 9 rpg. over the weekend) was the frequent recipient of double teams. He was quick to recognize that defensive scheme and move the ball to an open teammate. On defense, Mita was a fierce rebounder and swatted a host of shots.

Mita (14.5 ppg.; 1st Team All-Central League) is one of the top forwards in southeastern Pennsylvania. His 32 points and 14 rebounds performance during the 5A state tournament showed college coaches a new ceiling for his skill set. Thus, I am expecting a monster June live period from him. Mita is a high IQ, stretch-4 prospect. He can pop mid-range jumpers as well as threes. He can also attack the rim of the dribble from the elbows. In close, he can produce points via flip hooks, drop steps and by kissing face-ups off the glass. Plus, Mita is a beast on the offensive glass. His polished footwork and court awareness make Mita smooth pick-n-roll big.

The leader throughout the year for a highly successful Penncrest group, Mita has shined up front with his rugged two-way interior game. While it wasn’t his most successful night offensively, Mita wreaked havoc with his size and length around the basket on his way to 19 rebounds. He never relents while in pursuit of the ball while using his sturdy frame to carve out position consistently, and also shows good timing and verticality while presenting a deterrent at the rim with his length. Mita did have a chance to showcase his touch and footwork as a faceup scorer from the midrange. With interest from high-academic programs of all levels, he’ll have a real chance over the next year to play his way higher up D1 boards.

Mita (14.5 ppg.’ 1st Team All-Central League) has been one of the best hybrid-forwards in the region all season. Then on Tuesday night he took his game to another level as stuffed the stat book with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Mita’s incredible double double pushed Penncrest to a victory over Holy Ghost Prep in the 5A tournament. Mita opened this contest on fire as he popped mid-range jumpers, converted flip hooks, and scored over both shoulders in close. In the 3rd quarter he simply took over the game by torching HGP from all over the floor. His second half scoring outburst (19 pts. in 2H — unofficially) led Penncrest to a come from behind win. When college coaches look at the film of this game, they will be especially impressed with the high IQ and court awareness Mita displayed.

Last week in the Central League championship game, Mita (15 ppg.) notched a double double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. This high IQ stretch-4 prospect followed that performance with a 21 point and 11 boards effort in the District 1-5A quarterfinals. Sixteen of Mita’s points came in the second half. Wednesday night Mita connected on face ups and flip hooks as well as mid-range jumpers. He also dialed up a couple of threes. Mita attacked the offensive glass for second chance points too. Defensively, Mita gobbled up rebounds and supplied rim protection.

Mita (14.5 ppg.) has been stuffing the stat book during his monster junior campaign and that trend continued Monday night. During Penncrest’s loss to Lower Merion this stretch-4 prospect posted a stat line of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Despite LM best defensive efforts, Mita generated offense from all over the court. Mita splashed face ups and mid-range jumpers as well as 2 threes. He scored on dives to the cup and via the offensive glass. His high IQ and ability to pass out of double teams were on full display against LM too. At the other end of the court, Mita cleaned the glass and blocked a couple of shots. Penncrest (20-3) will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming District 1-5A tournament.

Mita is one of the front runners for Central League POY honors and on Saturday he continued to make his compelling case for receiving that award. In Penncrest’s win over Lower Merion, Mita registered 21 points and 10 rebounds. For Mita it was his second straight double-double (17 &12 vs. Conestoga). Against LM, this stretch-4 prospect scored at every level. His jump shot was clicking from all over the floor as he buried one three, popped mid-range jumpers and knocked down face ups. Mita also produce points out of BLOB sets and via the offensive glass. Mita’s outstanding play is one of the reasons Penncrest has jumped out to 13-0 record.

Mita played with an aggressive motor throughout the game. He found ways to collect rebounds on either end. He did a great job of screening on or off the ball. He was able to score in different ways. He has an array of post moves and likes to show off his spin move when he can. Mita had good touch inside. Mita scored 17 points and had a few assists. He keeps getting better and should see some traction from coaches in the coming months.

As a sophomore this stretch-4 prospect registered 14 points to go along with 6.5 rebounds per contest and was a 2nd Team All-Central League selection. We expect those numbers to improve in 2024-25 as this winter Mita will be surrounded by a group of accurate perimeter shooters. Those snipers will space the floor and prevent opponents from double teaming Mita. Thanks to his length and solid frame, Mita can score in close via post ups, dives to the rim and the offensive glass. In the mid-range Mita will drain elbow jumpers and attack the cup off one or two dribbles. He is also an effective 3-point shooter coming off pick-n-pop action. Mita possesses a high IQ and fantastic court awareness. Thus, he is quick to recognize double teams and move the ball to an open teammate.
