[player_tooltip player_id='1587829' first='Garrett' last='James'] was lights out in an OT win against St. Clair. I've said it before and will again - We all know that he can shoot (we saw it again in this game), but he's developed his game into much more. His game is much more dynamic. We saw James create with his right and turn it into a bucket. He also had an athletic right to left take that he pulled up off the bounce and buried a mid range jumper off of. James was able to put the ball on the floor, touch paint and draw a foul on multiple occasions.

Frantz could have filled multiple highlight reels.....in each half. He was nothing less than outstanding. He attacked the rim with both hands and finished for buckets. Frantz was able to bury jumpers pulling up off the bounce. He worked extremely hard off the ball, always forcing the defense to move and react to him. This resulted in multiple catch and shoot triples for him. Frantz wasn't just a scorer though. Especially early in the game, he was providing excellent perimeter help D that cut off drives to the rim and forced the ball to be moved. Frantz also distributed the ball at a high level. I counted 3 second half assists without really tracking it. With his 30 plus points and handful off assists, he had a hand in a ton of points.

His performance would be missed by the stat sheet readers. That's why they aren't good scouts. Rademacher was tremendous in this game. His perimeter defense was terrific as he made it tough for Traverse City West guards to get easy looks. And that's saying something because they have one of the better backcourts north of Saginaw. College coaches take note - this is typical of Rademacher. Find how he can help the team win and roll with it. Want proof, ask about the touchdown pass from baseline to baseline.

Remember how I just mentioned how good the Traverse City West backcourt is? Well, here's their ringleader. Lockhart deserves any press that he gets, plus a lot more. I was impressed when he went north-south and attacked the defense with his speed with the ball in his hands. Getting downhill helped him shrug off defenders and score through them. Lockhart played so smart with the ball, being patient and never forcing the issue and making great decisions with it. He did show his shooting prowess in the win against their rivals. Lockhart buried a catch and shoot corner 3 and a deep step back 2 that were both very impressive.

Thompson was exciting to watch when he had the ball in his hands. He's a quick and athletic guard and he showed this in his team's win against St. Clair. Thompson drew a foul on a tricky take to the rim and then later swooped across the lane with the ball and finished with a soft flip in for a bucket. He once again showed his flare with the ball, especially when working left to right, when he shook a defender and converted on the right handed layup.
