Remember how I just mentioned how good the Traverse City West backcourt is? Well, here’s their ringleader. Lockhart deserves any press that he gets, plus a lot more. I was impressed when he went north-south and attacked the defense with his speed with the ball in his hands. Getting downhill helped him shrug off defenders and score through them. Lockhart played so smart with the ball, being patient and never forcing the issue and making great decisions with it. He did show his shooting prowess in the win against their rivals. Lockhart buried a catch and shoot corner 3 and a deep step back 2 that were both very impressive.

Lockhart is a Trine commit and an exciting lead guard. He can dribble and pass through pressure and will have the ball in his hands a lot. He sets the tone offensively, and when he does, TC West wins games.

Traverse City West and Lockhart open up against Grand Ledge. Lockhart is a premier lead guard in the senior class. He initiates the offense with a dribble combo as well as with a high percentage pass. Lockhart is a high IQ decision maker.

It may be strange to see a guard that has the ball in his hands a ton on the list, but if you really watch Lockhart closely it makes sense. He gets the ball down the floor and doesn’t hesitate in getting it to it’s spots. It’s from there where his work really begins. Lockhart passes and moves, forcing the defense to rotate and knowing that his movement will make the ball swinging back to him way more likely.

Lockhart will be electric this season for TC West. He’s a composed point guard that doesn’t force the action. He patiently works from left to right until he finds a lane or hole in the D. Lockhart will be must see up north.

Lockhart is a guard that a ton of coaches would be sure to watch in Grand Rapids. He’s at the heart of a really good couple years of hoops prospects in the Traverse City area. Lockhart works really well from left to right and can use a couple concise dribble moves to create space for a shot or to get his feet on the paint.

I was able to see Lockhart in Kingsley and he was just as advertised. He’s the kind of guard that you can put the ball in his hands and trust him to make the right read and play with it. He can score at a high level, but doesn’t need to force it. He knows that his buckets will come. Lockhart is very comfortable working left to right with the ball.

Lockhart can be found touring the Traverse City area in June with his TC West squad. He’s been a key part of a VERY good West Michigan Lakers team this spring and looks to ride that momentum into June. Lockhart is fast and effective playing at any pace. He’s a threat to fill it up from deep and can be relied upon to make the right pass.

I saw him play in person this winter and my message to coaches and scouts is this: He’s as advertised and is without a doubt a next level prospect. He’s an incredibly efficient point guard that makes really good decisions with the basketball in his hands. Lockhart can play at any pace and he can get the ball down the floor quickly both off the bounce as well as with the pass.
