This is an obvious one in my opinion. The young man is and always has been talented, but his rate of improvement is out of this world. James just keeps getting better and is doing it quickly. This is a great sign for coaches at the next level. James has provided evidence that he’ll keep working and keep improving when he moves to college ball.

was lights out in an OT win against St. Clair. I’ve said it before and will again – We all know that he can shoot (we saw it again in this game), but he’s developed his game into much more. His game is much more dynamic. We saw James create with his right and turn it into a bucket. He also had an athletic right to left take that he pulled up off the bounce and buried a mid range jumper off of. James was able to put the ball on the floor, touch paint and draw a foul on multiple occasions.

We have sort of an accidental theme building here with shooters. But here’s another one. James has always been able to fill it up from beyond the arc, but he’s put in the work and developed his game. James looks a lot more athletic and comfortable making plays on the move. This has helped in transition and the chance to have the ball in his hands even more.

James is one of the purest shooters around and his continuous rise up the rankings are a testament to it. Heck, he could still be ranked higher. James is a smart shooter that can get his buckets without being incredibly shot heavy. He picks and chooses his chances and delivers when they’re there.

James was doing James things on Saturday at the David Barns Showcase. I’m just so impressed with how his game has developed over the last 6-12 months. Yes, he’s always been very talented. But he’s gone from an elite SHOOTER to a top notch all around PLAYER. James shot well this weekend, but he also handled the ball, distributed and defended.

James is about to get a chapter in my book with all that it feels like I’ve written about him. That tells you enough about his game. With Ballers Elite this spring and summer, we saw James transform for a knock down shooter to an efficient guard that can handle, create for his teammates and distribute. Oh by the way, that jumper is still there.

James was really solid this weekend. There was 1 thing in particular that stood out to me. We all know that James is an elite 3 point shooter. He can fill it up and did just that some this past weekend. But it was his ability to find teammates, distribute and put his teammates in scoring positions that really caught my eye. James showed a diversification of his game and proved that he’s not just a shooter.

If I could describe Garrett’s game in one word it would be, effortless. On offense, he is an elite shooter who gets to his spots and can score from all three levels with his 6’3 size. What sets him apart, however, is his basketball IQ. James is clearly the straw that stirs the drinks for Port Huron and will have a huge impact on their success this upcoming season.

has been on a bit of a tear for about a calendar year now. He’s proven to be one of the better pure shooters in the state and that has continued to show so far in June. James has been lighting up scoreboards this month with his shooting, specifically from deep.

James continues to prove himself and he did it in Texas this time. When James gets on a heater, he’s a game changer. He was just that this past weekend. James once again grooved his jumper and showed why he should be considered one of the top pure shooters in Michigan. He had at least 2 games in Texas that he dropped over 20 points in.
