Game Report: Greenforest-Putnam County

After a quick 6-0 hole, Private No. 3 Greenforest overpowered A D-I No. 1 Putnam County to hand the War Eagles their first loss of the season, 66-53. Greenforest owned the glass, outrebounding Putnam County 63-29.    Greenforest dominated Putnam County in the paint, outrebounding them 39-12 in the first half before finishing with a 63-29 advantage. Wilson exploded for 24 points, 26 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 3 blocks in the 13-point win. Orion was everywhere, a magnet for the ball. His activity level inside was outstanding, controlling the interior in front of Augusta's Dip Metress and the Georgia College staff. Wilson stole the show with his effort and even showcased his sneaky good perimeter skill, knocking down a corner three. Orion has stretch forward capabilities and has blossomed as Greenforest's leading scorer his senior season. Wilson is a hard hat and lunch pail guy that will soon start winning over college coaches.     Kyree's importance and development expanded as two other incoming transfer guards departed, making way for the Canadian import. Taylor has a smooth, steady-handed game. He makes plays for others, changing speeds and directions with ease while surveying the floor. Kyree is a solid three-point shooter off the catch and off the dribble and has a floater in his bag when attacking the paint. Taylor posted 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.     The springy big collected 12 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks. He showcased a hook shot with both hands and moved well along the baseline for catch for slams.     Dallas filled up the box score as a tough-nosed glue guy guard. He contributed 5 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. He's a strongly built guard that can physically impose his will on smaller players.     Djevan made the most out of his opportunity, coming into the game to pound away on the offensive glass. Ituome scored on a pair of putbacks, finishing with 4 points, 7 assists and 1 block. Ituome has great size as a sturdy intimidator down low. He's not as athletic as his frontcourt teammates, but Ituome is a big bruiser that can provide quality minutes when called on.     J'mari sank three threes against Greenforest. He buried two pull-ups and nailed another long ball from the corner. Greene had an And-1 take to the basket off a cut. Greene served as a distributor as well, finishing with a team-high 13 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.     The 5-foot-11 guard played with heart, attacking the rim to draw fouls. Woodson got in transition and scored on a pair of And-1 buckets, shooting 4-6 from the line. Tamaud's ability to go from slow to fast with his dribble in a blink, helps keep defenders on their heels. Woodson went for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.     The lefty gets elevation on his jump shot. He scores in bunches with his three-point shot. He hit a pair of triples against Greenforest and was aggressive getting on the floor for loose balls. Banks has the skills, physical traits and bloodline to emerge as a serious prospect. Keep an eye on his development.     The 6-foot-7 southpaw is long and rangy. He did well challenging shots defensively. Offensively, Hargrove likes to play on the perimeter. He hit two threes and caught an alley oop in transition. Hargrove tallied 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
