-The athleticism was on display in a narrow loss to the Cavaliers on New Cut Rd. Fleming had a well-timed slip from the short corner to the rim for an easy lob dunk, had a great recovery block in transition, cross the paint to block a shot and grab the defensive rebound, and ran the floor well both ways in transition. The release looks much smoother on his FTs, with his makes splashing through the dead center of the rim. The shooting touch translates out to C+S looks on the perimeter when he simply catches, turns, and shoots without any hesitation. If he can put together complete performances with consistent effort throughout the game, he can put himself onto college coaches' radars on a good Panthers team.

-The athletic big has had some really special flashes of athleticism of late, working hard at both ends of the floor to impact the game against PVI at home. Barning is still adjusting to the speed of the game but has improved his feel with defensive rotations, positioning, and moving without the ball or after setting screens on the perimeter to stay out of his teammates' driving lanes while presenting himself as a good passing option in the key. He's starting to read opposing point guard's eyes as a helper or as the big showing on ball screens, timing deflections or steals well to disrupt offensive flow. Barning's highlight of the game occurred on a baseline rip through and 2-handed dunk in traffic to highlight a Carroll comeback midway through the 3Q.

-Moore's feel as an off-ball mover and passer in the halfcourt has improved by leaps and bounds this season, with the senior forward finding ways to impact the game in ways that don't always reflect in the stat sheet. Moore is serving as a great connector off the bench, passing out of difficult catch-and-finish angles around the basket to hit a streaking cutter or kick out to an open shooter for a good look at the basket. His footspeed has quickened and he often earns extended playing time with the boost he gives the Panthers off the bench as a do-it-all W/F prospect. Came up with 2 huge offensive rebounds in traffic to extend PVI possessions to lead to eventual scores in the halfcourt that stopped the home Lions from continuing a run in the 4Q to put the game away for his team

-I love the duality of Mena's game as a prospect. A burly forward with a soft touch that allows him to score from all 3 levels, he has fit into his new role with PVI nicely as a big that can set screens, knock down shots out to 25 feet, rebound the basketball, serve as a capable finishing target around the rim, and deter shots around the basket. Mena got it going early with a C+S wing 3

-Might be short-changing the forward prospect on the height as I watched a game of his from the upper level and another on film. But Pinto is an explosive forward that leaves a heavy impact on the game in the paint for the JV Panthers. A good leaper with a pretty quick second jump for a prospect his size, Pinto collected 4 blocks in the game by doing a great job of seeing both his man and the ball to make timely rotations to the rim to protect the paint. Although he relies pretty heavily on his dominant hand right now, he's willing to do the dirty work as a screener, rebounder, and play-finisher around the basket-- not shying away from contact and often initiating it.

-Loved the physicality and well-rounded skillset from the undersized W/F prospect on the Cadets' JV team. Burgess crashed the offensive boards, knocked down a C+S 3 from above the break, and flew around defensively for his team to serve as a disruptor for an undersized SJC group. Burgess snagged an offensive rebound in traffic and pivoted nicely to the opposite side of the rim to finish with the extension lay, timed his face cuts to the rim well, and served as a good dump-off option for his guards-- finishing through some tight windows and double teams throughout the night. Best sequence of the day was a recovery block and rebound to ignite the fastbreak before walking into a deep C+S 3 at the opposite end. Really intrigued to track his progress this summer to see what his circle prioritizes with his development.
