The annual Chance Harman Memorial Classic took place in Floyd County this past weekend, which is on one of my personal favorite events of the year. The two day classic takes place about 30 minutes from Blacksburg, and always features a mix of talented local teams from the western part of the state as well as some big time out of area programs, giving me a great chance to see and evaluate talent from numerous levels in one event.

The event is named after Chance Harman, Floyd County Head Coach Brian Harman's son who passed away from a rare form of cancer in the early 2000s. The event features raffles, silent auctions and more, and all profits go toward childhood cancer research.

Here's a look at part two of the standouts from VA teams in attendance.

The Barons are off to a great start this season, and continued that will impressive wins over 1 of 1 Academy (NC) and Tri-Cities Christian (TN), and Creasey is starting to prove he's one of the best players in his class in the state. The 6'8” hybrid forward was fantastic throughout the weekend, showing his versatility as a mismatch offensively with his athleticism and shot making ability. He made some tough shots from deep off the move, he finished above the rim with power and ease, he showed his ability to create shots off the bounce and made plays defensively too.

Huang is part of an intriguing young backcourt for the Barons, as the native of Taiwan made a lot of plays for his team in both games. At 6'3” he has great positional size for his age and beyond, and while he still has some young tendencies he showed a lot of poise handling pressure and a good IQ making plays for himself and others. He changes speeds well and gets to spots where he can make tough shots off the bounce, he's a crafty finisher around the rim, he delivers all sorts of different passes well and he sets the tone defensively too.

The Texas native is another name to remember moving forward for Blue Ridge, as he brought a lot of positive energy for his team and did a lot of the little things that helped them win games. The 6'2” wing was a tenacious defender who flew all around in their press, fought for loose balls and was great in help and recovery. He showed the ability to knock down shots from deep off the catch and get to spots off the bounce to score it from multiple levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='2624539' first='Austin' last='Agosto'] | 5'9” PG | Blue Ridge '27

Yes, there's even another 2027 guard for the Barons to keep an eye on, as Agosto actually starts for them and is the younger brother of former Barons standout Josh Colon. The 5'9” guard is a tone setter on both ends of the floor, as he's very tough to stay in front of with the ball in his hands and he's able to guard the ball 94 feet on the defensive end. His quick first step and ability to change speeds and directions allows him to touch the paint and make plays for others, he finishes well when he gets downhill and he can hit open shots too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1546447' first='Ryan' last='Crotty'] | 6'5” WG | Miller School '25

The Oklahoma State commit and front runner for VISAA D2 POY was fantastic for Miller in their win over Tri-Cities Christian, showing why he's one of the best shooters in the country. He showed deep range off the catch and the confidence to let it fly from anywhere off the catch. He lit it up from all over the court, going for 27 points and going 6-for-8 from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242375' first='Shane' last='Crissman'] | 6'5” WG | Miller School '25

Crissman was another impressive shooter for Miller who put on a show for them over the weekend, going for double digits in both games and showing a lot of strides in his all-around game. The 6'5” wing is one of the best available seniors in the state, as he has great positional size and length and he can really light it up from deep. He has a quick release and great form to make shots on the move, he has improved a lot in his time on the defensive end and he makes the right play consistently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1588502' first='Jordan' last='Hairston'] | 5'11” PG | Miller School '25

Hairston is a player who has been the unsung hero for Miller over the past few years, and he continues to be a rock at the point guard spot for this team. He's a tone setter on both ends of the floor and is an excellent point of attack defender who can hound ball handlers, he controls the tempo offensively, he touches the paint regularly and he can make plays for himself and others. He finished with 11 points and 5 assists in their close loss to 1 of 1 Academy.
