<p>On Tuesday, Jan 21st I attended the match-up of #6 in 4A<strong> ALA Queen Creek </strong>traveling to Gilbert to take on #9 in 6A <strong>Higley</strong>. Higley and ALA QC are both entrenched with their respective conferences in the playoffs and both can make a nice run. </p>

<p><strong>Freshman Game (59-22 ALA QC won)</strong></p>

<p>A face-up power forward who rebounds well. He keeps plays alive on the glass and cuts off the ball to score. He will step out to the three point line and shoot it off the catch and brings some size to the court for the team. </p>

<p>An undersized scoring point guard is stronger and stocky. His IQ for the game is very high. He scores with threes, put backs, smartly changes speeds to get a step on his defender and will dribble drive and score with either hand. He has deceptively quick hands to collect steals. He probably had 5 steals and scored 14 points. </p>

<p>A tough wing forward will score with tough takes inside the basket. The lefty can kiss it off the glass and get to the FT line. He will score with offensive rebound put backs, advanced post footwork and changes speeds and directions to get downhill. He seems to live on the glass with his toughness and strong frame. He scored 15+ points. </p>

<p>A quick combo guard with a defensive mentality. He has quick hands and feet on defense to collect a bunch of steals. He has good court vision to make a play and he can euro down the lane to score. </p>

<p>A wing forward with a good feel to make a play. He will score with rip thrus and has a nice three point stroke for a forward. He will run the lane well and he is cerebral and skilled. </p>

<p>A scoring point guard who will throw up the court passes with real court vision. He has a good burst with the ball in his hands to get into the paint to score or earn it at the free throw line. He will hit the catch three with a quick release or will pull-up off the dribble. </p>

<p><strong>Junior Varsity Game (<strong>79-51 Higley</strong> won)</strong></p>

<p>A long combo guard can score and facilitate. He has a fast burst to blow by and can pull-up from mid-range with a nice shooting stroke. He can also step into a three, jab step into a jumper and is super graceful as he seems to glide in the air to score tough layups. He will drive and kick it and dump it off with great timing for the dime. He also rebounds well with his bounce and length. He scored 15 points with multiple assists. </p>

<p>A scoring point guard plays at that pace that keeps defenses off balance. He will hesitate to the basket and make a tough shot in the lane over a defender with layups or floaters. He can hit the deep three and can also burst and then thread the needle to a teammate. He is quick on the ball defensively to collect steals. He scored 19 points with multiple assists. </p>

<p>A scoring combo guard can fill it up. He has a nice mid-range pull-up and an ultra quick shooting release from the three point line. He has one of those strokes that look good every attempt and he makes smart reads to teammates. He scored 8 points. </p>

<p>A scoring guard will pour in points multiple ways. He will drive on his opponents, he is a quick second jumper to get on the glass and he will euro step to the basket. He had multiple and-1's in traffic with his dominant right hand and plays off of two-feet. Defensively he will block a shot on defense and rebounds well. He scored 17 points. </p>

<p>A highly skilled scoring guard will fill it up quickly beyond the arc. He will catch and shoot from the three point line with a super quick release. He moves without the ball to free himself up. He scored 8 points. </p>

<p>An all-around player fills up the stat sheet quickly. He scores with driving layups, fall aways in the post creating his own offense, catch threes and will make plays. He sees the court with advanced court vision for his size. He scored 7 points with 5+ rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block in barely 3 quarters. </p>

<p>One of the top shooting lead guards was on a heater as they say. He drilled 6 catch and shoot triples with real range. He will jab step into jumpers and his floater game is polished. He has a nasty mid-range pull-up off the dribble and scored a game high 24 points with 5+ assists and rebounds. </p>

<p>A skilled wing forward is strong and tough. He will catch and shoot from the three point line, dunk it on the break and score it near the basket. He scored 10 points with multiple assists and rebounds. </p>

<p>A cerebral wing forward will score with catch threes in rhythm, quick cuts off the ball to score and rebounds the ball well. He makes smart reads to his teammates and he is a perfect glue player for the Knights. He scored 9 points. </p>

<p>A defensive minded senior bothers his opponents. He collects steals, blocks and rebounds the ball at a good clip for his size. He scores with offensive rebound put backs, inside takes, floaters and layups on the break. He scored 12 points. </p>

<p>The long and tall freshman guard plays on or off the ball. He will score with cuts without the ball and tough driving layups thru contact. He is really good in the passing lanes to collect steals with his long arms, size and twitch. He scored 5 points with multiple steals. </p>

<p>An athletic defensive wing forward had a good fourth quarter. He will score with spin moves into a pull-up, put backs and he is a very good on the break with real speed. He scored 6 points. </p>

<p>A scoring guard will fill it up with inside buckets using his sturdy frame. He has post moves he utilizes and will drive by his opponents with a sneaky handle and burst. He will also score on put backs and he made a couple pocket passes perfectly in stride to his teammates. He scored a team high 17 points. </p>

<p>An athletic scoring lead guard can score and make plays. He will drive and kick, slip it in and make some nice pocket passes for assists. He will score with catch threes with a quicker release, ball fake and go up to score and he is athletic in transition. He scored 13 points. </p>

<p>A highly skilled power forward got eligible recently with his transfer from Mesquite. He scores with the floater game with a nice touch and will step out and face-up to the three point line. He will collect steals and he is a good rebounder who will outlet the ball up the court on a rope impressively. He scored 7 points. </p>

<p>A senior combo forward will defend and score. He scores with in-traffic takes with some physicality, he will use the floater game and plays aggressively on defense. He rebounds at a good clip in his area and will block shots. He scored 5 points. </p>
