With the high school season getting underway, we at Prep Hoops VA will be taking a look at some previews for the season in each classification. We'll look at both state title contenders, as well as preseason All State teams. Here's a look at our picks for Preseason First Team All State in VISAA D2.

Crotty is the biggest prospect in the division on the reigning state champions, and the Oklahoma State commit has already set records making the most three-pointers in a VA season last year. The 6'5” off guard is as confident a shooter as you'll find, as he has no problem letting it fly from well beyond the arc, and is able to get to spots and let it fly quickly on the move. He is a tough nosed player who brings great energy on both ends of the floor, he can get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches, he doesn't go through long shooting droughts and he can attack off the bounce and score it in different ways too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494105' first='Donovan' last='Richardson'] | 6'5” CG | Steward School '25

The University of Richmond commit was a First Team All State selection last season, and barring injury there's no way to really conceive he doesn't make it again this season. The 6'5” combo is a walking mismatch at his size, as he can make plays off the bounce to get to spots and get to the rim at his size without many that can guard him on the perimeter. He can deliver passes on point to cutters and shooters, he scores it well at the rim and in the midrange and he can move off the ball and knock down open shots too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494098' first='Justin' last='Burrough'] | 6'7” F | Norfolk Collegiate '25

Burrough is set for a big senior season after NoCo lost a bit of their guys in the preseason, so he will be the guy who they will lean on and has already shown he's up for the task with some big games so far in the early season. The 6'7” forward can play and guard multiple positions while impacting the game across the board, and he's improved quite a bit as a scoring threat over the last few years. He can hit the offensive glass for extra points, he can knock down open jumpers from the perimeter, he's an athletic finisher above the rim and he still does the little things to help his team win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2571731' first='Jaylen' last='Wynn'] | 6'5” SF | Peninsula Catholic '25

Coming off a big summer with Team Loaded 757, Wynn is one of the fastest rising prospects in the 757 and is set to have a huge senior season for a PC team that will be a dark horse candidate for a run at the state championship this season. The 6'5” wing can do a little bit of everything on the floor, and really thrives as a downhill attacker who can use his strength and athleticism to finish through traffic consistently. He can knock down shots off the catch from deep, he's dynamic in transition where he can push the rock or run the wings and finish above the rim and he's a very solid rebounder and defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470582' first='Will' last='Mancine'] | 6'4” SG | Hargrave '27

Mancine was a standout as a freshman for Hargrave and followed it up with a very good summer on the 3SSB Circuit with Team Push, and he's already had a great start to his sophomore year for a Tigers team looking to build on a semifinal run last year. The 6'4” wing out of Chicago is a talented young prospect with a lot of upside, and he has shown he can score the ball in a lot of different ways efficiently. He's a very good shooter from deep with excellent form, he gets to spots and gets to the rim off the bounce and he's improving and getting more athletic every time we see him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2566558' first='Zyon' last='McGlone'] | 6'0” PG | Peninsula Catholic '26

McGlone is one of the more dynamic and entertaining players you'll find in this classification, as the 6'0” guard is super explosive and can score it in bunches when he gets it going. While he isn't the biggest guy he is super bouncy which allows him to play above the rim in transition, chase down blocks and he has great hang time to finish through contact when he gets downhill. He's a blur in transition with great end-to-end speed, he has a lightning quick first step to blow by defenders and he can create space and make tough shots from multiple levels too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242375' first='Shane' last='Crissman'] | 6'5” SG | Miller School '25

Crissman comes to Miller after being a standout at Riverside the last few years, and he fits in the Maverick's high octane offense perfectly with his ability to shoot it. The 6'5” wing can knock it down with effortless range from well beyond the arc, he has a quick release to get his shot off with little to no space and he can attack off the bounce where he's a crafty finisher and gets to the line often. He's already had multiple 30 point games for them this season, and is in the perfect situation to thrive with his skillset this year.
