What teams have really surprised so far this year? We run you through a list right now!

Centennial (4-0). There were people that likely questioned if the Cougars would win four games all season and they've started the year 4-0! Centennial has beaten New Prague, Blaine, Cambridge, and Elk River. [player_tooltip player_id='1592856' first='Jackson' last='Driessen'] is pushing for Class AAAA all state status somewhere at nearly 27 points a game plus junior [player_tooltip player_id='1560850' first='Tristan' last='Hanson'] has taken a big step forward.

Eastview (3-1). The Lightning won only six games last year and they lost a lot to graduation. With nearly five guys averaging in double figures Eastview has beaten Mayo, Jefferson and Washburn, and they were one score from tying Chaska. [player_tooltip player_id='1560881' first='Ja'carion' last='Green'] leads them at 17 points a game and senior Logan Kollofski has been a surprise scoring a dozen points a contest.

Hibbing (4-1). They crushed Hermantown, beat Greenway by 60, and knocked off an improved Zimmerman team by 16 points all of which were results that really caught attention. The only loss was to Bemidji and they play another 4-1 team in Cloquet this week. [player_tooltip player_id='2126126' first='Ray' last='Brau'] is giving 21 and 13 a game which is not a surprise but Jack Bottoms, a sophomore, scoring 19 a night and [player_tooltip player_id='1585301' first='Evan' last='Bolden'], a junior, scoring 14 a game, has been huge!

Red Wing (4-2). At four wins Red Wing has hit about the area that some expected win wise. Beating Randolph, PEM, and Albert Lea were games you would expect them to win but those were 20 point area wins and Red Wing surprised people beating Hill-Murray. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2389730' first='Julius' last='Koehler'] is showing his All Big Nine honor last year wasn't just an MLB All Star requirement, it was an honor for a strong player! He is scoring 26 a game.

Sartell (3-1). Did you know that Sartell is only allowing 55 points a game so far? That's a top five number in Class AAAA basketball! Beating Willmar and Tech was expected but blowing them out was not. They also beat a veteran Rocori team convincingly. [player_tooltip player_id='1560795' first='Maddox' last='Lewis'] leads the team at 18 points a game while [player_tooltip player_id='2119640' first='Bennett' last='Bommersbach'] is scoring 12 a contest.

Simley (3-1). How about those Simley [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last='']?!?! They won four games last year and they will match that before month one is over this season. The [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] beat Como Park and Edison which you could see coming maybe but beating MCA was an eye opener! Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2121366' first='Connor' last='Streiff'] leads with 16 a game while 8th grader Justus Dayce is scoring 15 a game, [player_tooltip player_id='2405556' first='Tre' last='Lovelace'] at 13 a game and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2440424' first='Andre' last='Glass'] scoring ten a game.
