The state of Michigan saw a nationally premier game on Saturday when The Villages came from Florida to Michigan to take on Orchard Lake St. Mary's. This was a matchup between 2 of the most talented teams nationwide. The Villages won by a score of 65-60. There was a lot of elite talent in the gym and the game was an instant classic. We're taking a closer look at 10 of the top players in the game on Saturday. You can see the first 5 in Part 1 below.

https://prephoops.com/2024/12/stars-come-out-in-the-villages-v-olsm/

Hines showed that he will be an electric guard this high school season. His straight line speed, quickness and hip movement will be a flat out strength and a mismatch. Hines showed transition mid range touch with a nice pass fake to clear space and a floater finish. He hit another mid range bucket on the wing later in the game. Hines showed that he can be a fearless shooter with a high arching 3 from the corner and a catch and shoot 3 late in the game that pulled OLSM within 3.

Britt was impressive for The Villages on Saturday against OLSM. He's really just dangerous with the ball in his hands. Britt showed a fast first step when attacking with his right hand and he had a slick righty finish going across the lane. Britt finished with his left hand on a transition layup. I really liked the way he set up pass ready with balance on a couple catch and shoot triples. There were no prep dribbles and he went cleanly from pocket to release.

I really liked the way his game looked on Saturday. There has been clear and obvious development in his game. I think he looked stronger, tougher and more prepared than last season. If this continues, we have something special on our hands here in Michigan. I liked how active Wright was on the glass, on both ends of the floor. Surrounded by length and athletes, he was still one of the best in the game on the glass. Wright's rebounding on the offensive end led to 2 put back buckets.

Thompson is a very intriguing player and prospect. There is big time upside in this young man's game and next level coaches will want to see it ASAP. He looked like an active and engaged 2 way player. Players that bring it on both ends are hard to take off the court. He hit a big 4th quarter triple and had another pretty catch and shoot 3. Thompson showed the ability to rim run, with a nice cut - catch - and score. He used his defensive vision to create a steal in the backcourt that turned into an assist and instant offense.

Kemp is a premier guard prospect in Michigan. I really like what he brings to the game from ear to ear. It was rare to see him over force the issue on Saturday and he didn't try to create plays that weren't there. Kemp showed his court vision and passing ability when he looked up the floor and connected with a teammate, which created a transition opportunity. He worked and had consistent movement when playing off the ball.
