Coming into the St. Cloud rivalry game St. Cloud Cathedral was 4-0 while the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles were 3-3. Apollo coming off a dismantling from 3A favorite Alexandria and a narrow loss to Fergus Falls they looked to right their ship.

Early Apollo looked a bit like those 2 losses really impacted them as they started the game down 9-0. Cathedral had 6 made shots early by 5 different players. A team playing very few seniors to get shots and points from many different players is a great sign for them.

Apollo led with little time left in the 2nd half by three after two made free throws. 2027 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2840496' first='Howie' last='Doke'] made a fall-away 3-pointer in the left corner to send the game to overtime.

Overtime was all Apollo and [player_tooltip player_id='1574216' first='Azayah' last='Washington']. The 2025 senior scored 12 points and was responsible for an assist accounting for 15 of the 17 overtime points. Washington slammed home the victory in OT with a breakaway dunk.

The future St. Cloud State Husky literally carries the Eagles offensive attack, and them to victory. Washington also grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, nabbed 3 steals and blocked 2 shots. Washington's best qualities are his shot creation ability off the bounce, spot-up shooting from the perimeter, and passing as he keeps his dribble alive.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874917' first='Micah' last='Nwachukwu'] - Micah did a good job driving into the defense and making the pass to an open teammate for a good shot, which ended in at least 2 made 3-pointers. Micah, a 2026 six-foot-one-inch guard, uses his dribble well, and is a solid passer. He's an above average scorer as he's scored in double digits at least 3 times this season, and in this game he went for. I liked he had a help side block from behind on a driving player to stop a lay-up try. Micah ended with 20 points making 3 3-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560535' first='Trevor' last='Terfehr'] - The 2028 freshman Terfehr had another multiple 3-pointer made game with 5 3-pointers for 15 points for the Eagles. Terfehr does a fantastic job positioning off of Washington to give himself enough space to knock down 3's when his defender leaves to help teammates. And to Terfehr's credit as well to do what he does very well at, shoot the ball, making the catch and shoot shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560852' first='Salifou' last='Camara'] - Camara is 2026 six-foot-two-inch forward that can handle the ball and is agile enough to take his man off the dribble. Camara has good footwork in the lane when he gets there, which here versus Apollo wasn't an issue as none of the Apollo defenders matched his size and quickness. I loved Camara's hustle around the rim for rebounds and he's an above average passer with a good eye for pushing the ball up the sideline to push the fast break. Camara finished with 19 points.

Ikenna Kwachukwu - Ikenna did well to get to the free throw line and make his free throws as he had 8 in the game. He did well in transition, and attacked the basket when needed. Ikenna finished with 14 points. Last game versus Milaca he scored 17 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and had 4 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2402255' first='Jaylen' last='Ashfeld'] - Ashfeld is a 2025 guard from Apollo as well and he's been a solid running mate offensively for Washington. Versus Cathedral he made it his 4th of 5 games with at least 10 points and he's been over 20 points twice including this game. He scored 22. Some ways he did it was getting out in transition and being available for easier opportunities like one play he got a lay-up and a foul.

Henry Sand - Sand is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2026 guard from Cathedral. Sand is a good jump shooter as he made 2 3-pointers and sank 7 free throws.

Jack Stang - Stang a 2025 guard from Cathedral hit 2 big 3-pointers in the 2nd half including the one to send the game to overtime. He really found ways to contribute scoring 12 points in the game off the ball throughout the contest.
