Waseca is 8-0

Waseca is off to a great start led by two brothers, 2025 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2103355' first='Damarius' last='Russell'] and 2026 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2121332' first='Deron' last='Russell']. Both are drama creating defenders that can give you nightmares.

Against St Peter Damarius had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals.Deron had 21 points, 5 assist, and 5 steals versus Worthington, 25 points versus Lake Crystal, and 29 points versus New Ulm with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2430337' first='Broden' last='Steiner'] - Steiner is a 2025 six-foot-five-inch wing from Onalaska high school in Wisconsin. I added Steiner to this list of Southern Minnesota prospects because Onalaska took on Caledonia and Winona last week. Steiner showed excellent leaping ability in transition, putting down a few slams in each game. Against Caledonia he scored 18 points, and he had 22 versus Winona. Steiner was versatile on defense, helping inside and closed quickly on the perimeter for blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560862' first='Fisher' last='Kruckeberg'] - Kruckeberg is a six-foot 2026 guard from Byron who gives the Bears scoring punch most nights. Kruckeberg shoots the ball with good efficiency from the perimeter, and attacks the basket well off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1584901' first='Ricky' last='Wengert'] - Wengert is a six-foot guard from Rochester Century that in his first 2 games of this season he scored 40 points for Century. Wengert is a good ball handler and can shoot it from the perimeter, especially when defenders go under screens and he's able to step in his shot freely.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381222' first='Deng' last='Lueth'] - 6'11 big Rochester John Marshall 26-12 5 blocks versus Century Tuesday December 10. Lueth seems to be better getting up and down the floor from a year ago. His size is real, he's a legit big man. He takes up space and can anchor the middle.

Martin sprang up the 2026 rankings with consistent high level play. The lefty is a solidly skill wing, stretch four guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1575326' first='Mason' last='King'] - King was a joy to watch this summer running the point for the Minnesota Lightning. So far for Caledonia he has 2 20 point games including 5 3-pointers versus La Crescent-Hokah and 4 3-pointers versus Fillmore Central.

[player_tooltip player_id='1575329' first='Reid' last='Klug'] - The six-foot-four-inch Caledonia 2025 guard is off to a good start with a 27 point game versus Onalaska, 15 versus La Crescent-Hokah, and 15 versus Fillmore Central.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874846' first='Gavin' last='Johnson'] - The 2025 six-foot-five-inch guard is leading Cannon Falls incredibly well to a 6-0 start including a win over ranked Byron. Johnson is long, and with a history of cross country running so he takes long strides. Natural pass first player from the wing, is a good shot blocker for his position, and can shoot it above 35% from 3.
