Now that the OHSAA basketball season started about a month ago, it's the perfect time to update our OHSAA rankings for the first time since we released our preseason lists. In this article we'll break down the top 10 teams in Division IV!

1. Cincinnati Wyoming (6-0)

Wins over Hilliard Bradley and Cincinnati La Salle are solid wins for our preseason second ranked team that remains unbeaten.

2. Akron Buchtel (6-2)

A win over Newark to start the season and a 2-2 split on a tough west coast trip has Buchtel inching closer to our top spot.

3. Warrensville Heights (5-1)

The win over Lutheran East propelled Warrensville Heights way up these rankings. Their only loss is to Saint Ignatius, they'll have plenty of more tough tests to see if they can remain near the top of the rankings.

4. Kettering Alter (5-3)

Alter has three neutral court losses to Richmond Heights, Trotwood-Madison and Ashland Blazer (KY) have caused Alter to drop from the top spot. They have wins over Clayton Northmont, Chaminade Julienne and Kettering Fairmont and have enough marquee games the rest of the season to move back up.

5. Canfield (6-1)

Wins over Holy Name and Youngstown Ursuline caught my attention before a tough home loss to Division II power New Albany.

6. Youngstown Ursuline (5-2)

With wins over Warren G Harding and Youngstown Chaney, there's some solid wins on the resume. A loss to Canfield and Lutheran West drops them a couple spots from their preseason ranking.

7. CHCA (5-1)

Wins over Highlands (KY) and Tri Village are impressive but their best game of the season might've been their one point loss to Division I power Cincinnati St Xavier.

8. John Glenn (5-1)

The little muskies hold a win over our ninth ranked team and have the same number of losses so for now they are one spot ahead of conference rival Maysville.

9. Maysville (5-1)

The Panthers have a nice resume with wins over New Lexington and Coshocton, their lone loss to John Glenn has them one spot behind the little muskies.

10. Pomeroy Meigs (7-0)

Wins over Fairfield Union and Vinton County plus an unbeaten record keep Meigs exactly where they were in the preseason.

Watchlist (By Region)

Valley View (3-1)

Heath (7-0)

River Valley (5-1)

Indian Valley (4-1)

East Liverpool (8-1)

NDCL (6-1)

Hawken (7-2)
