Prep Hoops made the trip up to Chesterfield County and Chesterfield HS for a day of games at the Lugoff Chevrolet GMC Buick Christmas Classic. The event featured teams 8 boys teams in attendance. Who were some standouts? Who were some new names? Well, maybe it's time to jump on board and SUBSCRIBE today. Use the passcode "Swanny30" at checkout to save 30% off your first billing cycle. #RecruitThePalmettoState

McBee Defeats Central HS:

The first game of the day featured McBee HS defeating Central HS (Pageland) 71-61. The Panthers had [player_tooltip player_id='2709020' first='Jakari' last='Holloman'] and Michael Griggs both scored 21 points in the game. Holloman a junior guard was able to score the ball getting downhill to the bucket. The strong framed guard excels on the football field as a wide receiver and defensive back for the Panthers. Jakari really had things clicking today with his game. He was able to change gears and directions to race by defenders. He connected on some floaters and three pointers along the way.

Griggs a left-handed undersized post player was able to showcase a soft touch around the bucket. Michael tends to stay in the paint and deliver results for the Panthers with his production. He excels in the spring on the baseball diamond.

UNSIGNED Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1372635' first='Tyrek' last='Wright'] really likes to play his game going to the basket in attack mode. Wright a physical guard likes to absorb contact on the way to rack. He will look to get to the foul line at a good clip. Tyrek finished with 16 points in the Panthers win today.

The Central HS (Pageland) received a very balanced effort from [player_tooltip player_id='2616381' first='Tazhir' last='Webber'] and junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2709019' first='Aiden' last='Short'] both with 13 points apiece in the game. Webber came off the bench here today for the Eagles and provided a good spark. Tazhir was able to connect on some jumpers here today.

Short is certainly a new name for the database. Aiden wants to play his game going to the basket in attack mode. Short really looks to slash to the cup and just playing active on both ends of the court.

UNSIGNED Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1239533' first='Caden' last='Edmond'] finished with 12 points in the loss. Caden extremely aggressive today with his play. He jumped on the deck for 50/50 balls and seemed to be constantly around the ball all day long. Caden recently went over 1,000 career points and currently has 1,046 points in his career for the Eagles.

Stallions defeat Red Foxes:

The Class 1A Lee Central HS defeated Hartsville HS Red Foxes 60-56 here today. The Stallions will play in the Upper State this season with the likes of Lamar HS and McBee HS in Class 1A this season.

Chuck Harry a football prospect for the Stallions led the way today with 21 points. Harry is like a pogo stick at times with his quick bounce off the floor. Chuck finished with 21 points around the paint area. He did adventure out to the elbow for a short jumper from time to time.

Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1295791' first='Jamisen' last='Wilds'] finished with 15 points in the win. Wilds a point guard really likes to showcase the floater around the paint area.

Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2709018' first='Sinatra' last='Rembert'] (All Name Team) a left-handed guard finished with 15 points in the Stallions win. Rembert was able to finish drives to the bucket while playing aggressive all game long for his young age. He showcased a nice shot from the foul line.

The Red Foxes had a balanced attack with junior point guard Zaries Huggins leading the way with 12 points. Senior EJ Smith also the starting Quarterback on the football team this past fall finished with 11 points. Senior wing player Casey Hawkins added 10 points. The Red Foxes played without [player_tooltip player_id='2314646' first='Kayson' last='Dawson'] in the game who was out with a injury.

Williams is Just a Freshman:

[player_tooltip player_id='2454347' first='Lamont' last='Williams'] will certainly be a name to remember in the 2028 Palmetto State. Prep Hoops first saw Williams on the Grassroots Circuit this summer with Palmetto Pride. Williams is currently 6-foot-6 and might not be done growing quite yet. Lamont scored 16 points in the loss to Richmond HS (NC) in an opening round loss for the Silver Foxes. Williams is a long and rangy forward who really cleans up on the glass. He still must get stronger with the ball and keeping the rock up high at times.

Richmond HS Raiders Duo:

The Raiders duo helped them win in the opening round here today. The Raiders from across the border in Rockingham, NC really look to play fast while pressing and trapping to bring chaos to the floor.

Senior duo [player_tooltip player_id='2374728' first='Ahavier' last='McDonald'] and Keyonta Davis led the Raiders today in a win over Lamar HS. McDonald finished with 24 points in the win. He really played quick to the ball and was able to finish with his left at the rack on several occasions. McDonald was able to score a lot of his baskets going to the bucket and in transition.

Davis a guard and a wide receiver in the fall for the Raiders brought great energy to the floor. He really looks to defend on the ball and bring activity in the passing lanes.

Rams Win in the Nightcap:

The host Chesterfield HS Rams on in the nightcap over Central Academy out of Charlotte 66-61. Junior Ronnie Little led the way with 27 points. Little plays down in the paint out of necessity for the Rams.
