I attended Mesa's "Fear The Hop" Thanksgiving Tournament at Mesa High School and these are some of the players that caught my eye.

[player_tooltip player_id='2620728' first='LaDamian' last='Jackson'] Desert Sunrise

LaDamian is a quick guard that can have his way in terms of getting to the basket. With his speed, he puts himself in good position to get a steal in the passing lane and get an easy 2. Being a right hand dominant guard, he also has the ability to finish with his left hand going downhill. He's good for an occasional spot up or off the dribble three.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956210' first='Ky' last='McCutcheon'] Desert Sunrise

In the game I watched against Queen Creek, Ky had 20 points. From the perimeter, he is best in catch and shoot scenarios. When he's attacking downhill, he has a variety of moves that he uses to complete tough finishes whether it's through contact or in the air, Ky was finishing very well. He's very fast as well so he was able to get in the passing lane and get some steals out of a stance as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1570934' first='Diego' last='Sarabia'] Queen Creek

Diego against Desert Sunrise was a force. He was finishing through contact and getting rebound after rebound. Diego defiantly plays with grit and effort and is a good player for this Queen Creek team. He was always at the right place at the right time.

[player_tooltip player_id='2279896' first='Blake' last='Stradling'] Queen Creek

Blake in the game I watched against Desert Sunrise, was on fire from the three point line. He was making threes in a multitude of ways, whether it was off the catch, off the dribble, or movement, Blake was seemingly knocking them down with ease. In addition to his outside game, he had some good plays in side the arc, collecting a few rebounds and getting some easy putbacks. Lastly, he has good footwork for a forward where he had a few finishes off of pivoting in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2552784' first='Emir' last='Konicanin'] Paradise Valley

Emir is a 6'2" guard with size. He has a smooth handle and plays with good pace. In the game against Arcadia, he had 19 points where he had a few catch and shoot threes, mid-range pull ups, and finishes at the rim. Emir is just a freshman so he has a lot of time to adjust to the high school game.
