District Play: Little Elm vs Coppell Standout Players

In their first district matchup of the season, Little Elm and Coppell played in a game that featured many skilled players. Both teams had players who showcased their abilities on the court that can translate to the next level. These players impressed during this game and are good players that deserve some spotlight on them.    Berry impressed with his shooting ability and skillset. He moves well without the ball to put himself in the right positions to score. Can heat up from three and knocks down threes with consistency. His handle is tight and crafty as he uses his handle to break down defenders to score around the basket. Berry plays a smart game and knows how to effect the game with his strengths of shooting and executing.     An aggressive scoring guard, Candler has a great feel for scoring. He's a three level scorer and excels at scoring going downhill in transition. Has the ability to finish through contact and can convert on difficult shots. He can convert on contested jumpers, pull up jumpers, crafty layups and floaters. His offensive IQ is impressive as he knows the right times to go score or when to set up a play to get the offense going. On defense, he can be scrappy and attentive to cause turnovers.     Fegans plays with good aggression and is a strong wing to deal with. Has a good passing ability and he showed this with multiple accurate passes and assists. He's good at penetrating in the lane and kicking out to the open man. His touch is solid around the rim and has the ability to isolate defenders on the wing or in the paint. He also has a good feel for drawing contact and hustles for 2nd chance opportunities and put backs.     With good composure and a good driving ability, Socks made it difficult for defenders to keep up with him on offense. He has good body control which helps him get in the lane with ease to score contested or blow by layups. Can play in the mid range and has a good touch around the basket. Is good at being active on both ends off the floor as the ball always seemed to end up in his hands. Is athletic enough to hold his own on defense and has good elevation with blocking shots and scoring at the rim.     Fleming is a point guard who has a good feel for the game and tends to make the right plays. He's good at initiating an offense and makes the right passes to execute his team's offense well. His handle was impressive as his craftiness and savvy moves made it hard for defenders to stay in front of him. Displayed his ability to shoot with good efficiency and can be a threat to convert on pull up and spot up threes at a high level. He also has the ability to finish strong at the basketball with contact.     Ward is a player that makes winning plays and showed this on both sides of the ball during this game. Brought energy to his team with some crafty crossovers and finishes at the basket. Is good at spacing the floor and can knock down catch and shoot threes. Has the ability to break down defenders from the perimeter to glide into the paint to finish or set a teammate up too score. He made the right rotations on defense and had a couple deflections and steals.     A pure point guard who's active in getting his teammates involved in the play. Plays good team basketball and can score when he needs to. He moves well without the ball and showed this by having some good cuts to the basket. Converted on a couple of composed floaters and layups at the rim. Played with good intensity on defense and was a good ballhawk. He had multiple steals and a help side block in transition.
