Top Ten in State: Henning

Henning has four starters back from a team that was 26-3 last season including one of Class A's best players in [player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades']. As for the league, they should role in the league. But this is a team that has a chance to make a state title run.

Compete with Most: Pillager, Bertha-Hewitt, Sebeka, Menahga, Verndale

Pillager has one of the league's best players in [player_tooltip player_id='1633708' first='Christian' last='Hooge'] so they will be a solid team with Hooge and a few others back. That said, they graduated a decent sized senior class that had multiple all league players and they need to fill those backcourt positions. Brady Rach is a nice young player for Bertha-Hewitt, and he is the lone reason that this isn't a total rebuild as the rest of the contributors around him last year were seniors. Like Pillager and Bertha-Hewitt, Sebeka brings back a key player ([player_tooltip player_id='2126157' first='Max' last='Lake']) but a lot of what was around them last season has graduated and new players have to grow and step in.

Menahga is a little bit of a different story. They only had six upperclassmen last season total, and they will be a smaller team this year with only one player bigger than six feet tall (6'2). Last year was going fairly solid but they lost eight of their last nine games last season to finish the year. Verndale was a 2-12 league team and it looks like they graduated three starters but do return an all league player (like just about everybody in this category).

Rebuilding: Wadena-Deer Creek, New York Mills

The Wolverines had a strong season last year but the players that led the team to 19 wins, have graduated. Wadena-Deer Creek will be in a reset with some younger players, but the good thing for them, most teams in this league are having to fill a ton of spots. New York Mills won a single game last year and they graduated their two all league honored players.
