Prospects we're adding to the "must-see" list this year

The regular season is about a week or so away from being fully underway across the state, and there are a few more prospects that have jumped on my radar before things tip off! Here is a second round of players around Maryland/DC that you should keep watch for.    Croskey is a very smooth and dangerous operator on offense. He can shift right by the defense with a quick move or use his first step to blow right by. His scoring prowess is something to see. Croskey has the total package when it comes to basket-making. Can shoot right over the top of the defense for two points or three, thanks to his shot elevation and quick form. If you take away the jumper he will live at the rim, beating everyone to the cup with his ferocious halfcourt speed. Been making noise all summer and only confirmed the hype with his most recent early-season play.     Very intriguing wing prospect out of DC. Nice length and size, good defensive and rebounding instincts. Strong finisher inside the paint and knows how to use him body to draw fouls and create leverage for himself. Out in transition Dzieketey will run the floor well and can make the catch and finish the break without trouble. Will need to improve as a consistent and dependable shooter, but the intangibles are there early on. Good instinctive player that makes a lot of smart plays on either side of the court. Like the upside on Isaiah Dzieketey.     Solid scoring option for New Town without forcing his offense. Capable of hitting big baskets and shoots the ball very well on the catch or off the dribble. Smart guard that keeps his head up and sees the floor. When the defense closes out Liggins is more than willing to put the ball floor and take it strong to the rim. A very naturally athletic and active guard that can knock down jumpers with consistency.     Lozano is another new addition to Mt. Zion Prep and he is working to be next in line as the big man of the future for the program. Has very impressive control of his body being so young and so tall, already listed at 6'10. With his mobility he can defend, rebound, and run/cut well on the floor. Has nice touch in the midrange and is capable of making a move down low to create a good look for himself. Once Lozano gets his experience and further development going, he could be a staple for Mount Zion.      [player_tooltip player_id='2639995' first='Nazir' last='Anderson'] is a sharpshooting off-guard for the young RCA team. When the defense closes, he is capable of putting his head down and finishing at the rim. Very effective in transition using his speed to get out on the break and finishing with a layup. Sneaky handle and first-step quickness that can get him into the second level of the defense. Decision-making will get better as he plays more high school games and his new team gains more cohesiveness.     Jackson is a good athletic big with a lot of skill at his size. He is efficient with his shot attempts, only looking to take shots he can make. Will step out to the midrange but is most comfortable in the paint finishing close. Jackson is big and strong with the ball, but has touch at the basket, even when finishing through pressure. Jackson has enough handle and IQ to face up and drive to the basketball off the dribble. Teammates trust him with the ball. Solid 5 man that gets it done on both ends.      [player_tooltip player_id='2640006' first='Neftali' last='Rios'] is one of Concordia's premier scoring threats. He can light up the scoreboard in a hurry if he catches heat. Quick trigger on his jumper that allows him to rise and fire with minimal space. Rios is a knockdown shooter from any range, but he likes to put the ball down and create for himself as well. More than willing to attack the closeout and pull up in the midrange or take a floater close to the rim.     [player_tooltip player_id='2639992' first='Kelan' last='Dennis'] is looking for a big senior year out at Dulaney High. Coming off an impressive summer of hoops at several team/individual camps. He imposes his will on the floor, looks to set the tone defensively with aggressive and timely defensive plays. Brings the intensity offensively as well. Very comfortable in the paint, seeks out anyone willing to step up and challenge at the rim. Pulls down lots of rebounds both defensively and offensively. Competes at a high level all game long and really uses his athleticism to his advantage. Dennis will have some college attention as he gears up for his final high school season.
