Southern Door -- The Eagles hope to soar to their third straight Packerland championship and they will have high-scoring guard [player_tooltip player_id='1418511' first='Drew' last='Daoust'] back for his fourth year of varsity play to help achieve that lofty goal. The 6-foot-1 Daoust averaged 32.8 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior, leading Southern Door to a 22-5 record. The two-time Player of the Year in the Packerland, Daoust begins his senior year with 2,225 career points. He will need help in order for Eagles to accomplish another league crown. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2386397' first='Caden' last='Pierre'] (5-10, 9.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2634559' first='Tyler' last='Neinas'] (6-4, 6.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg) joined Daoust in coach Josh VandenBush's starting lineup a year ago while senior James Fish (5-11, 4.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg) and junior [player_tooltip player_id='2387959' first='Lauden' last='Berg'] (6-2, 4.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg) were key reserves. 2. Oconto -- Scoring potency is a definite strength for the Blue Devils as three double-figure scorers are back from a club that finished 18-10 under coach Antowan Epps. Leading the way for Oconto is returning unanimous first-team all-league wing [player_tooltip player_id='2039671' first='Carter' last='Koch'] (6-5, 22.9 ppg, 7.7 rpg). Koch is probably the most athletic and most versatile player in the conference and he can dominate at times on both ends of the court. Also back are seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2634554' first='Cooper' last='Campshure'] (6-1, 13.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2386686' first='Trenton' last='Hartman'] (6-4, 10.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg). Outside of Koch, Campshure and Hartman, Oconto is largely untested. Senior Carlos Guerrero (6-5, 4.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg) could be a key performer for a team that has a deep senior class. 3. Kewaunee -- After tying Peshtigo for the Packerland crown in 2021-22, Kewaunee finished in second place in the league standings in each of the past two seasons. Second-year coach Matt Bosdeck must replace one of the better players in the league the past two seasons in guard Thomas Stangel (6-1, 23.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg). But he does have some talent returning, including starters [player_tooltip player_id='2381690' first='Avery' last='Jerabek'] (6-0, 9.6 ppg, 3.7 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2542522' first='Connor' last='Kilgore'] (6-1, 10.5 ppg, 6.6 rpg). Kilgore eached honorable mention all-league honors as a sophomore last winter. Seniors Cooper Kolmorgen (5-8) and Ethan Paplham (5-10) along with juniors Waylon Delain (5-9) and Evan Maccaux (5-6) also return. 4. Algoma -- Paced by the return of first-team all-league selection [player_tooltip player_id='2634556' first='Parker' last='Lischka'], the Wolves of Algoma hope to finish among the top teams in the Packerland. Lischka had a tremendous sophomore season, as the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 20.0 points and 6.1 rebounds while helping Algoma to an 11-12 record under coach Eric Schneider. In addition to Lischka, Algoma's Chase Romdenne (5-6, 8.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg) and Cody Kirchman (6-4, 7.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg) return to the starting lineup. Junior Braeden Leist (6-0, 4,5 ppg, 2.9 rpg) also returns. 5. Sturgeon Bay -- The Clippers have some big holes to plug in their lineup as four starters from last year's 14-12 squad graduated last spring. That leaves senior [player_tooltip player_id='2388823' first='Jackson' last='Starr'] (6-4, 12.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg) as the lone returning regular for second-year coach Zach Goblisch. Starr is one of the league's better performers and should be a tough cover for opponents because of his size and versatility. Top prospects at Sturgeon Bay outside of Starr include seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2610577' first='Hayden' last='Tracy'] (6-3, 5.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg), Braden Evers (6-6), Bryce Hansen (6-0) and Ian Fruzyna (6-0) along with sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='2386259' first='Benjamin' last='Ash'] (5-9) and Sam Fruzyna (6-1). 6. Peshtigo -- Size and depth are strengths for the Bulldogs, who welcome back one of the league's most productive performers in junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2496332' first='Dominik' last='Baxter'] (6-5, 20.3 ppg, 6.8 rpg). Baxter helped Peshtigo to a 13-13 record and received first-team all-league recognition as a sophomore. Seniors Carter Roeder (6-1, 6.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg), Adin Reiswitz (6-1, 2.1 ppg, 1.8 rpg) and Canon Bickel (6-1, 3.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg) also return. Some talented underclassmen could work their way into the regular playing rotation for the Bulldogs as well. That group includes juniors Landon Haulotte (6-0) and Brady Robison (6-0) along with sophomores Brady Polzin (5-10) and Cody Nesberg (6-0). 7. Green Bay NEW Lutheran -- The longevity of coach Mark Meerstein is beyond impressive as the Blazers' mentor begins his 34th year in charge of the Green Bay NEW Lutheran with 430 victories against 374 setbacks. He losses three double-figure scorers and four starters from a 13-13 squad and will rebuild around senior [player_tooltip player_id='2634563' first='Reid' last='Nelson'] (6-1, 8.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg). Nelson is the lone senior on the preseason roster so youth will characterize the Blazers in 2024-25. Juniors Kenji Lange (5-7, 3.6 ppg, 1.4 rpg) and Brett Gajeski (6-1, 2.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg) along with sophomore Hayden Schultz (5-11) earned some varsity minutes a year ago. Newcomers Grayson Herlache (6-4) and [player_tooltip player_id='2614886' first='Isaiah' last='Faulkner'] (5-6) also could figure into the rotation. 8. Gibraltar -- The Vikings lost leading scorer Braden Sitte (6-3, 19.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg) and productive rebounder Marshall Maltby (6-4, 6.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg) to graduation from a club that went 6-19. Coach Travis Ward, though, does have some experienced back as three starters and two key reserves will make up the nucleus for Gibraltar in 2024-25. Returning regulars include seniors Will Lecy (6-2, 3.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg) and Liam Lindenberg (5-7, 8.7 ppg) along with junior Aaron Brey (6-0, 2.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg). First-year coach Tom Ash has three starters to work with as the Pioneers aim to snap their dubious streak.
