21p 4a 3r 2s vs Rocktop

-Explosive performance from the dynamic MZ National PG in a blowout win over Rocktop. Williams did a great job controlling pace in this one-- forcing turnovers at the POA by cutting off driving lanes and collecting deflections defensively while putting pressure on the rim at the other end. His decision-making was on point while weaving through the defense, with an added emphasis on keeping his head up after collecting a steal or rebound to either throw a lob over the top of ignite the fastbreak himself. Improvements to his perimeter shooting were evident, with Williams going 4/6 from beyond the arc to blow the game open en route to a big win

It all looked effortless for the Maryland commit in a win over GSP, showing the full range of his abilities as a play-maker, halfcourt scorer, shooter, and defender. Jeffrey started off the game with a double cross into a pull-up 3 that hit nothing but net, hid behind screens to lace several 1H threes, and took tight angles coming off of screens to buy himself extra half seconds to either score or pass a teammate open. His change of pace and decisiveness with the ball made him difficult to stay in front of throughout the night as he took what the defense gave him en route to a near triple-double. Would like to see him be more vocal directing traffic

-Liked the renewed energy on the defensive side of the ball from Curtis as I think he can be one of the better on-ball perimeter defenders in the area if he makes that one of his goals. Also like what I saw from him in the halfcourt, with Curtis showing off some improved scoring chops with a soft touch on floaters in the paint and a 2/3 performance from beyond the arc. As he grows accustomed to filling his team's needs in a new setting alongside Mundey, more college interest will likely be generated by consistent performances.

One of the more improved players in the areas is starting to string together consistent performances at both ends of the floor. Peterson steps into a starting role at MZ as a wing that can get to a 1-dribble pull-up smoothly from either wing, contribute on the glass, jump passing lanes, and finish plays in transition. Had a great sequence in the 1H with a backdoor cut for the lay follow by a steal and a 1-dribble pull in the paint for the easy deuce

-Career night for Williams as he made the most of some extended opportunities by knocking down shots from beyond the arc to blow a close game open for the Warriors. A strong guard that moves well off the ball, isn't afraid to mix it up in the paint for rebounds, and fights hard for loose balls-- Williams should fill a key role for MZ off the bench as a player willing to do all of the small things that add up to winning. If he can add more explosiveness on the ball, he should be much more effective in the halfcourt attacking hard closeouts and getting paint touches to utilize a soft shooting touch.

-Quick guard that moves really well off the ball to free himself up for open jumpers and was knocking them down with consistency this weekend. Lewis has added to his scoring bag as a shooter that can hit 1 or 2-dribble pull-ups going either direction from both sides of the floor, hit floaters in the paint, and lay it up around the basket with some smooth inside hand finishes. If he can add in more timely digs at the ball, shooting gaps around screens to force turnovers to give himself some easy ones in transition-- he will become an even more valuable prospect.
