The SWAC should be full of surprises in 2024-25 with Green Level High looking to go unbeaten once again with another season upon us. The Gators had their best season in school history, finishing 29-2 in 2023-24 and they return a few key pieces ready to make a run. Panther Creek High is back as well and they're always a team who knows when to peak at the right time to make things happen on the NCHSAA stage. Take a look at this year's contenders!

The Gators went unbeaten in SWAC play at 14-0 and the return of [player_tooltip player_id='1667677' first='Isaac' last='Ericksen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1754423' first='Israel' last='Eatman'] should have them right back in the mix once again. Add in the emergence of [player_tooltip player_id='2382809' first='Trevor' last='Manhertz'] on the perimeter as he should grow into a bigger role and the Gators should find themselves right back in the mix for the SWAC Regular Season title. [player_tooltip player_id='2127436' first='Garrett' last='Midkiff'] is another prospect in the 2026 class to keep an eye on as well as they look to prove once again to be top dog in the SWAC.

The Catamounts will certainly be playing with a chip on their shoulder when SWAC play arrives, at the very least. They went 12-2 in league play this past season, falling twice to Green Level but made a deep run in the NCHSAA State Playoffs, falling by two points to New Hanover in the Elite Eight. They're a well-coached group and 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1280981' first='Zy'vaun' last='Puckett'] is due to grow into a bigger role in 2024-25. Look for some new and fresh faces to make a splash for their group as well.

The Golden Hawks are a squad who constantly are in the mix for the regular season SWAC title and with [player_tooltip player_id='1698954' first='Will' last='James Jr']. in the rotation, he should carry them in 2024-25. He was SWAC Player of the Year after averaging 23.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game on 40 percent shooting from deep in conference action. Look for him to really push the envelope in his senior year!
