One of the more underrated senior prospects in the 919 area code checks the boxes of a college level prospect. He blends a solid 6’4 frame with a crafty handle, quick jump shot, and above the rim finishing ability. In the contest we saw him in he finished with 14 points 14 rebounds and 8 assists flirting with a triple double and showcasing his full package along the way. One for coaches to track this season for sure.

Puckett has helped Panther Creek get off to a monster 4-0 start with his ability to apply unrelenting pressure on the opposing defense. He has deep range off the bounce combined with a quick first step making Puckett a flat out tough check regardless of who’s in front of him. Puckett’s slippery handle allow him to weave through defenders to make plays for himself and others. He’s a big time above the rim athlete as well. He battled some injury stuff early in his career but appears to have returned to his original form and then some. He’s averaging almost 20 PPG with almost 10 RPG on 46% from the floor. Productive, efficient, versatile, and a winner. Need I say more?

Zy’Vaughn Puckett remains a dynamic three-level scorer at the public school level. His shifty handle, explosion to the rim, and physicality on both ends make him a consistent bucket-getter and defender. Puckett’s decision-making in transition and ability to create separation keep him as one of the top 2026 guards in the state, watch for more noise as Panther Creek’s schedule ramps up.

Torn ligaments in his knee held him out for most of last year’s grassroots season and all of his Junior year. He’s come back with the same bounce, combo guard like handle, and the three level scoring ability that made him a solid prospect before the injury. An eye popping dunk in the opening tournaments showcased his explosiveness and a big three to retake the lead against Expressions EYBL showed his shot making ability. If the play continues expect coaches to be calling as the grassroots season gets underway.

Got off to an outstanding start in the first quarter as well as the third quarter, knocking down difficult shots, rebounding the ball, blowing by defenders and blocking shots. He’s very athletic and plays with the confidence of an upperclassman which is very impressive for a sophomore.

Puckett moves into the Top 20 inside the 2026 rankings as he moves from No. 35 into the 17th spot in the latest rankings update. He’s an aggressive wing prospect at 6-foot-3 who’s shown he can hold his own already in the early going as Panther Creek High reloads their rotation for the upcoming season. He’s shown he can do a few different things on the hardwood as an early Division I prospect to track in the class with his skill set.

is the latest name set to emerge in the Panther Creek High rotation under head coach Shawan Robinson. He’s an intriguing prospect that can operate on the wing and in the backcourt at 6-foot-3. Defensively, he’s already learning to be a menace as an on-ball defender and shot-blocker as well. He’s joins the 2026 rankings at No. 35 after spending time on the watch list.

I was impressed with Zy’Vaun Puckett this weekend in his teams matchup against Team Curry, as he looked more physically matured and skilled than many of his peers. His 6’4 frame seems even longer with his length in his wingspan, and he already has the ball-handling skills of a guard smaller and more experienced than him. He knocked down a couple of three point jumpers, including one off the dribble in transition, a valuable skill to have. He made impacts on defense in passing lanes and on the ball, poking passes away and using his length to really disrupt the smaller guards he faced. With some more growth, he’s probably a wing that should get major looks at the Division 1 level due to his elite scoring ability.
