It wasn't that long ago when Louisiana's top player was a point guard. Manning is that for the 2026 class. When you think of a guard who puts pressure on a defense constantly, Manning is that guard. Autrail can come off the high screen, and make a pinpoint pass on one possession and a three on another. His basketball IQ is through the roof and he is in constant, play-making mode.

When it comes to a point guard who can flat out score, Magee may be the best one regardless of class. Marsh Madness 2024 was his canvas and he painted a masterpiece. Magee can pull up from anywhere 22 feet in and score. He is a dynamic handler of the ball in transition and finds his finishers. Dwight is a very good lead guard.

Nelson has not missed an opportunity to impress at the point guard during the travel/showcase season. He has worked tirelessly and everyone is beginning to see it. Cooper can make the flashy pass look routine and the fundamental pass look amazing. His pinpoint dimes have created easy buckets for many. His game, mixed with his upper body development and extended range, has made Cooper a tougher cover.

Lucas places pressure on defenses with his use of the three point shot. Ironically enough, that opens up his distribution game. His ability to put the rock on the floor and find others when they spot up or cut is a result of how much of a threat his long range shot is. Being a good shooter allows Gavin to facilitate during games.

McDonald is the best defensive point guard in north Louisiana. His ball pressure creates extra offensive opportunities for the Gators numerous times a game.
Durham is a state championship point guard who is good under pressure. He handles game pressure well and is very good when it comes to making plays, or shots, when they are needed. De'avery is good from behind the arc and may settle for them at times. However, he knows when to take over scoring or facilitating. Durham is a good point guard as close to a pure point as they come.
