Preseason Preview: Top Plains Forwards

Glatfelter maximizes his opportunities, converting open jumpers or making the extra pass should a teammate find themselves open. At roughly 6'3 or 6'4, the wing is a notable shooter from distance, always a threat while left open. Within the halfcourt, Glatfelter keeps his head up to find cutting teammates around the paint. Following dependable numbers of 7.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, the wing showed consistent value through his motor. They have impressed at recent showcase events, always finding a niche to deliver upon.     Kocerha is a large part of Simla's recent success, despite only being a first year high school athlete. While lacking in age, the forward is not lacking in size and skill, already a threat to attack the rim off the bounce. Comfortable operating in the post versus matchups, opposing defenses are often put into difficult positions given his toolbox in the paint. Keep in mind, he led the 26-1 program at 17.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. As he continues to round out his offensive skill set, the forward will be one of the more intriguing names at his position in the class. Defensively, he competes against multiple positions, holding his own 1 through 4.     Hill led Cheyenne Wells to a state title, albeit at the 1A level, there are few prospects in this class with size. Few opponents can contain the big man, proving to be a legitimate double double threat in each of his games at the high school or 16U club level. Posting 16.3 points and 12.9 rebounds per game, he is the definition of a bruiser down low. As the big's skill set continues to progress, it is easy to imagine his offensive upside in the near future. Particularly given the strength advantage, Hill brings upside with his post passing, able to assert his position with ease.     Kelley boasts a high motor, already displaying dominance at an early stage within the 1A level. Leading the program to a 21-5 record and 1A title appearance, generating countless second chance opportunities. What allows Kelley to be so successful is not just the size, but mobility to get into the paint early and cause trouble for opposing defensive rebounders. His soft touch with either hand lets him get up quick finishes past the contest. Throughout June, he shot the ball a bit more from mid-range areas, showing signs of stretching out the range in due time. Few names in the class work for second chance opportunities to Kelley's degree, always in the thick of it versus opposing defenders.     Williams is vital to their physicality down low, holding his own on the glass from either end of the floor. Seeking out early position in the paint, opposing defenses often find themselves scrambling to keep him off the glass. Through last season with Lamar, the forward put up 9.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
