High School Spotlight: Plainfield Quakers

The season is still a month away, but with practices happening, it is the perfect time to start previewing the season. In this series, we will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and notable games for the upcoming season. The 6'8 prospect is one of the more talented prospects we have in the in-state 2026 class with his elite versatility as a player. Very fluid with the ball for his size being able to make plays off the bounce and has shown some improvement in his jumper over the past year. He brings back 12.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore but now, this is his team to lead. Expect big things out of Smith this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2267048' first='Harper' last='Baker-Lands']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jeremiah-bellamy/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the fastest-rising sophomore guards in the state is poised for not only a more increased roll with Plainfield this season, but for a state-wide breakout season. [player_tooltip player_id='2267048' first='Harper' last='Baker-Lands'] brings back 8.6 points from his freshman season but was playing behind a very experienced back court last season but not has the keys as the primary guy in that area of the floor. He is a true floor general with the ball in his hands and is one of the better defenders in the backcourt in the class.
