This former Upper Moreland standout looked right at home with his new squad this weekend. The first item that pops with Martin is that he is a tremendous defensive player. With his quick lateral movements, large wingspan and anticipation skills, Martin frequently generated steals and deflections. He can take those turnovers and lead the fast break for score or assists. When he went to the rack, Martin finished through contact. On possession after made baskets, Martin scored with mid-range jumpers and drives to the cup. His height enabled him to convert over smaller guards in the paint. Martin also sprinkled in a few made threes.

Sanders could be the ideal pass first floor general for this talented SCH lineup. At the Black Cager event his tight handles and poise in the face of intense defensive pressure were extraordinary. Whether it was on the fast break or in a half-court possession, Sanders patiently waited for high percentage scoring opportunities to develop and then delivered a precise dime. When he was looking to score, Sanders got into the lane off the dribble and then finished with a creative touch. He did an effective job of stretching the floor with his accurate three-point shooting too. Sanders also displayed a gritty side to his game that gave him an edge against opposing guards.

Starling's speed, athleticism, and ability to score in the open court are obvious assets. But this weekend it was his polished mid-range game that really impressed. Playing on the wing, Starling would catch a pass, throw a smooth head / ball fake, then put the ball on the floor and get to his spots inside the arc. Starling worked as a primary ball handler where his crafty handles pushed him past defenders for pull-ups and floaters too. He also pumped in several threes and handed out a few nifty assists. We predict 2024-25 will be a monster season for this multi-skilled guard.

Waters has been slaying the competition this fall, so it should be a surprise that he was outstanding at the Black Cager event too. Simply put, Waters is two-way guard who did it all for SCH over the weekend. He scored at every level, capped off fast breaks with crowd pleasing dunks, facilitated for teammates, and rebounded. His logo distance threes were especially impressive. Waters also used his deep bag of dribble moves and polished footwork to create space for open looks. His high IQ and limitless energy kept him one step ahead of his opponents.
