A high-energy scoring guard with explosive athleticism, Waters improves with seemingly each viewing. He stands out with his length and athletic ability, but has grown into a consistent shooter from range while really refining his game off the dribble as well. A terror in transition, the strides Waters has made in his skillset have been key towards a more consistent impact in a halfcourt setting. His buy-in and playmaking instincts on D are also safe bets to translate to the next level. It’s also hard not to appreciate his communication and leadership. Waters has been pursued hard by high-academic D3 programs, but there’s upside here for scholarship-level programs to tap into.

Waters is quietly having an impressive senior season and it is time college coaches stopped sleeping on him. On Friday his athleticism, speed and high IQ were on full display as he scored repeatedly in transition and off the dribble in the half-court. Waters also displayed his highly accurate three-point stroke as he drained 2 triples on his way to 16 points. One of those made triples was the game tying three with five seconds remaining in regulation that sent this contest to OT. His rebounding and defense were also key to SCHA’s efforts.

Waters has been slaying the competition this fall, so it should be a surprise that he was outstanding at the Black Cager event too. Simply put, Waters is two-way guard who did it all for SCH over the weekend. He scored at every level, capped off fast breaks with crowd pleasing dunks, facilitated for teammates, and rebounded. His logo distance threes were especially impressive. Waters also used his deep bag of dribble moves and polished footwork to create space for open looks. His high IQ and limitless energy kept him one step ahead of his opponents.   

Waters continues to prove that he is a remarkable two-way prospect with all the tools to succeed at the next level. On Saturday he scored at every level, worked as a primary ball handler, facilitated for teammates, and rebounded. Waters excelled in the open court thanks to his speed and athleticism. His high IQ, accurate 3-point shooting and polished off the bounce scoring skills enabled him to succeed in the half-court too. Waters is a versatile guard who can play multiple spots on offense and guard 1 through 3 on defense.
