Martin excelled with his shot-making converting on timely shots in crucial moments of the game. He can shooter over smaller defenders. He got to the foul line frequently at the end of the game. He has a good feel for the game and set others up when the defense collapsed onto him. Martin is a someone who is a D1 watch-list prospect who should be on schools radars in a few months.

A transfer from Upper Moreland with a good deal of varsity reps already, Martin made the jump to the PCL look pretty seamless as a sophomore. Part of a deep young core at Egan, he shows a good deal of polish working off-ball as a shooter and cutter. His wiry strong build and developing athleticism help point to real long-term upside as well. Will be a key if Egan’s to make a jump up the PCL standings into the playoffs next year.

#25…The jump from Upper Moreland to competing in the PCL for Conwell Egan has gone extremely well for Martin. He earned a starting spot and is averaging 10.7 points to go along with 6 rebounds per game. Martin poured in 20 points (2 threes) and 8 rebounds in a win over Norristown as well as 15 points (3 threes) against Imhotep Charter. Martin can put points on the scoreboard at every level in the half-court and he can score in transition too. Still, what really impressed us about Martin is that he is a remarkable defensive force. His length, quick lateral movements, enormous wingspan, and high IQ enable Martin to generate a host of steals and deflections. Those assets combined with Martin’s leaping ability also make him an intimidating rim protector and plus rebounder too.

This former Upper Moreland standout looked right at home with his new squad this weekend. The first item that pops with Martin is that he is a tremendous defensive player. With his quick lateral movements, large wingspan and anticipation skills, Martin frequently generated steals and deflections. He can take those turnovers and lead the fast break for score or assists. When he went to the rack, Martin finished through contact. On possession after made baskets, Martin scored with mid-range jumpers and drives to the cup. His height enabled him to convert over smaller guards in the paint. Martin also sprinkled in a few made threes.
