All Showcase Team

The Prep Hoops Missouri Expo was held on Sunday afternoon at Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis. There were some talented players from around the state in the event. After watching the players participate in the 3-on-3 half court and 5-on-5 full court games, here is a look at the six players that we selected for the All-Showcase Team.    The 6'1 2026 point guard was the top prospect at the event. He's so smooth and fundamentally sound and the game slows down for him just fine. One of his best weapons is the simple two-handed chest pass. It led to all kinds of good things for his team on offense. When the young lefty asserted himself on offense, he was a bucket at all three levels. He creates off the dribble with his strength and wiggle and he finishes with a deft touch. His 3-point shooting is also a weapon.     The 6'3 2026 shooting guard plays the game at one speed, which was “Full Tilt Boogie.” He was in attack mode from the moment he entered the gym until the event ended. Whether it was in the half court or in transition, he was coming hard on the attack and his finish rate was excellent. He also has a nice perimeter stroke to compliment his drive game. He also rebounded the ball well and hit the passing lanes for steals.     A 6'0 2026 guard who reminds me of that old toy from the 70s called the Slinky. That was how he moved around the court with his smooth moves and wiry body. He could see the smallest crack in the defense and slither his way into the lane for layups and shot jumpers. When he started to get deeper in his bag, he was breaking down defenders with a variety of escape moves that led to 3-pointers, where he showed a feathery shooting stroke. He was also very good when he got two feet in the lane.     The 6'8 2027 power forward has made tremendous strides over the past year and it continued with an excellent showing at The Expo. His confidence is really flowing on the offensive end as he is emerging as a potent weapon inside and out. He was getting good seals in the post and his jump hook over the left shoulder was very effective. He was also dunking in traffic. He also made several 3-pointers off the pick and pop.     The 6'4 2027 guard is in the middle of football season where he is one of the top young passing quarterbacks in the St Louis area. He put in some excellent work on Sunday with his shooting and all-around bucket getting. In the 3-on-3 games, he was scoring on tough takes with both hands. He was getting two feet in the lane and thriving. In the full court games, he was thriving from the perimeter as he was knocking down 3-pointers off the catch and of the step-back variety off the bounce.     A 6'7 2025 forward who had an impressive showing as he displayed his power and athleticism at both ends of the court. He was one of the top shot blockers at the event as he protected the rim, got chase downs and even blocked a few on the perimeter. He had some strong moves in the post and he abused smaller guards in the paint on switches. He also like the action on the perimeter as he hit a few jumpers and even had a nice coast to coast drive off his own defensive rebound.
