3v3 Standouts at The Expo: Wisconsin

His sound, fundamental execution of the pick and roll may not be flashy, but it would please a lot of coaches. He did show solid athleticism through a hard cut and finish at the rim and by converting off of a lob. He's smooth with the ball and has an instinctive sense of where his teammates are on the court. He was also dropping dimes, including an impressive dish to a cutting teammate out of a spin move. He got up to make an impressive block on an opponent who had an aggressive take to the bucket as well. That's an impressive shooting display in any contested matchup, regardless of the format, but even more so in these shortened half-court games. He mixed in drives and passing, while also converting a nice step-back in the midrange off of penetration. My first notes for him were on his hustle and crisp passing, but his offensive skillset put him over the top. Tyler has a solid handle, which he pairs with a quick first step to beat defenders to the basket. He'll penetrate and kick or score in a variety of ways. He played intense on-ball defense, to the degree that it significantly stood out to me amongst the players who took to the hardwood at this event. Wendel also did a nice job of penetrating and probing gaps, making effective passes and dump-offs to his teammates.
