What I saw in Wendel was a gritty and purposeful player who can make everyone around him better. He played intense on-ball defense, to the degree that it significantly stood out to me amongst the players who took to the hardwood at this event. Wendel also did a nice job of penetrating and probing gaps, making effective passes and dump-offs to his teammates. He was also one of the better rebounders in the game I saw, despite his size.
Wendel is a crafty scorer and playmaker. He attacks the basket in transition and the half-court, and can finish in traffic. He possesses a lethal mid-range pull up jumper and is a reliable shooter from beyond the arc as well. His vision and passing ability creates open looks for his teammates.
