With the class rankings being updated for the 2025, 2026, and now the 2027 classes, I am taking a look into each class and seeing who are some names to know before the season. We will talk about which sophomore players who are ready to step up going into the season in my eyes.

Dawson, in my eyes, is poised for a massive season for the Lyncs. Lynden Christian will be looking for players to step up alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1587970' first='Gannon' last='Dykstra'] and Hintz proved over the summer that he is ready. Hintz is incredibly athletic, throwing down big dunks and jumping over defenders to get rebounds. It pays off on the defensive side too, always diving for loose balls and recovering quickly to stay in front.

Edison plays under-control with the ball in his hands and that's what makes him standout to me. He is patient when attacking down-hill and always lets the game come to him, rather than forcing things that could lead to turnovers. He fills the lane in transition really well, being able to finish through contact well.

Arlington will be looking for players to step up next to [player_tooltip player_id='1451025' first='Leyton' last='Martin'] and I think new coach Drew Bryson found his guy in Mac. Crews is very athletic, showing it at the PH WA Top 250 Expo by jumping up to out-rebound opposing players who are taller. He is quick with the ball in his hands but can play off ball just as effectively.

Malcolm is likely one of the most athletic players in this class, being able to drive from the wing and dunk on opposing players if they aren't paying attention. If he gets the ball when leaking out in transition, it will be an easy dunk that will wow the crowd. He can shoot the three ball really well but does need to work on getting to his mid-range spots to sink jumpers.
