10 Improved Players Heading Into the Season

Holcombe is a late bloomer but he provides depth on a team that could use more ball handlers and great glue guys that can be ball movers and creators for a few players. Holcombe is handling the ball well and getting the ball to where it needs to be. He defends well, look for him to have a solid year as he has improved a lot over the years.     Simeon has looked good out there with Orem. He is another bigger guard that provides a do it all skill set. He might have to sit out sometime because of his transfer but when he does come back it will give Orem depth at the 3 and they will be able to be big at times as well and Simeon could play multiple positions. He is a gem in the class that is under the radar.     Brighton plays a tough scrappy type of brand of basketball and you can see that Josh brings that toughness attitude to the floor. Mawhinney makes good easy moves to the basket. He can tap into a pull-up game at 15-feet and he can also power the ball through to the rm and finish in traffic. He shoots the ball well so he has that dual threat of inside and outside going for him. He is a much improved player that will make Brighton tough.     Neidig is a big body and he is more mobile and more athletic than before. His role in the rotation will be huge providing minutes defending bigs and being impactful on the offensive end of the ball as well. He is one of those blue collar type of PF's that could continue to improve his skills at the next level. Not only is Lucan much improved he has a high ceiling.     Sharp was impressive at the PH Expo earlier this month. He is a skilled shooter that can make buckets off the bounce, on the move and especially just catching and shooting. His improvement taking and making quality shots has been something that you can see. He has also improved inside the three-point line. He has some length that can come in handy down in the paint. Sharp is much improved.     This is a player that a lot of D2's should be all over. He has become more mobile and he is a perimeter threat off the bounce and on the catch. Deng is quick too. With his improvement coming in all aspects of his game. He is a soldi grab and go guard that can go coast to coast. Shooting has vastly improved. He is a must watch.     Fosita has tapped into a new gear of his game as he is more explosive but it starts with that first step that he can get to quickly. He has that change of speed and level that at times catches defenders off guard and then he is so strong going to his left. Impressive and much improved, he is set for a big year.     Easton is going to turn into a big steal at Denver. The kid has positional height and size. In high school when he is in a pick n' roll he is difficult to cover because he has the size to impact the roll but then he can pop and shoot, so being on the same page with his coverage is going to be crucial in high school. The next level is something that he will be ready for as he has put on some muscle. Easton is much improved.     This kid has built some confidence and this kid can shoot the ball. He is a deadly zone buster, especially in the corners. He has good size as a shooter and he has long arms that allow him to get good looks even when defenders close out on him.     Brown has been really impressive. His improvement goes beyond shooting or driving. Brown has been able to make strides in his all-around defense. His all-around feel for the game on offense as well. Brown has made some really good moves away from the ball and he does keep his drives simple but he has moves he can tap into when he attacks. Brown has improved a lot.
