Region 2 was the best in 6A last year as they had excellent play from programs like Bingham. Mountain Ridge and eventual State Champion Westlake. Let's take a look at the prospects coming back in Region 2.

Westlake

[player_tooltip player_id='1724364' first='Malik' last='Sika'] & [player_tooltip player_id='2022331' first='Slone' last='Su'a']

Sika and Su'a have a ring to them, and they will both enter the season with championship experience. These two players bring the most experience to the team and will anchor the defense while controlling the tempo on offense. Sika is one of the best two guards in the state and is a lockdown defender. On offense, he is a take-what-the-defense-gives-you type of guard. Su'a will be a much more utilized player this season after seeing limited minutes on a senior-laden team. Look for him to spark the defense and get things going offensively this coming season.

Mountain Ridge

[player_tooltip player_id='3281425' first='Dylan' last='Hatton'] & [player_tooltip player_id='2450680' first='Jordan' last='Horsley']

Mountain Ridge returns their two top-scoring guards and backcourt mates this coming season. These two caused a lot of issues for opposing teams, as Horsley was one of the best shooters in the class and most times in the gym. His ability to make shots and tough ones at that makes him a valuable piece of the puzzle over at Mountain Ridge. [player_tooltip player_id='3281425' first='Dylan' last='Hatton'] is another valuable piece of the puzzle as he is one of the better PGs in all of 6A coming back, and he has a lot of experience. He knows when to take over, and he knows when to get others involved. This is a great duo that will be a contender in 6A.

Herriman

[player_tooltip player_id='2809208' first='Xavier' last='Mulford'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1724357' first='Stone' last='Tia']

Tia's continued development has made him a valuable wing for Herriman. He's proficient at both driving to the basket and expanding his outside shooting. He will be a crucial piece as Herriman strives to be a formidable team next year. Mulford, who already showed promise as a freshman, is poised for a breakout season. Expect him to be more aggressive and impactful. This dynamic duo has the potential to lead Herriman to success.

Stay tuned for Bingham, Cedar Valley, Copper Hills, and Riverton as they look to have a few rising players on their respective teams.
