The Expo: Team Four Breakdown

This past weekend, Prep Hoops hosted The Expo at the Hidden Valley Boys and Girls Club in Bellevue. Many of the top players in the state got on the court together as well as plenty of other prospects making a case for some recognition. The day consisted of 3v3 and 5v5 games and gave each competitor a chance to stand out. We'll be breaking down each player from each team over the next week, with this article highlighting team four.    A fast, twitchy guard who consistently created space for others by drawing extra defenders into the paint with his ability to drive the lanes. One of the top playmakers on the day, utilized hesitations again and again to set up his speed into gaps, also was able to elevate the pace every time he touched the rock.     Strong kid who did a good job moving off the ball to find space and was able to knock down some shots from the perimeter. Played hard on the outside to cut down driving lanes and was active crashing in to work to keep the possession alive on the offensive glass.     Solid wing prospect who mixed up his attacks well. Hit some threes and then was able to play off of that and attack hard closeouts to get to the rim. Showed the ability to guard multiple positions and was able to fill a solid role for his team defending and staying ready to attack.     Sneakily athletic guard who was able to make some big plays inside with well-timed blocks and quick decisions with the ball. Made a few nice reads on the break to hit the right man for the assist and showed the ability to knock down some shots from outside.     An early standout on both ends who showed the defensive ability to stifle a wide range of offensive players. Moved his feet well, showed quick hands to get strips, and was super effective getting downhill, then turning back with a quick pivot to knock down short jumpers.     The tall guard popped on a few plays that really showed his potential. Shot the three well with extended range, made a few slick passes to backdoor cutters, and got his man in the air with one of the better hesi's I saw on the day.     Another sneaky athlete on team four, Rife is a strong guard with some big burst who was able to take contact and make some nice finishes up high at the rim. Played tough defensively and is able to really body guards with his strength.     He's a strong forward who rebounded really well on both ends. Strong enough where if he gets good position it's tough for defenders to move him off his spot. Also showed a good-looking jumper that could really develop into a strength of his game down the line. Even stepped out to knock down a few threes.     Really athletic wing who showed some good anticipation to follow missed shots and had several tip-in's on the offensive end. Can knock down the midrange shot and has some length to bother wings defensively.
