Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. We've been able to flex our muscles here in the month of September hosting three outstanding events featuring well over 300 prospects from across the Hoosier state. First, it was our annual Freshman Showcase and newly formed Sophomore ID Camp that we hosted back on Sunday, September 8th. Both events were a massive success. Then, on Sunday, September 22nd we hosted “The Expo” which featured juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure in front of college coaches. As always, our scouting staff will be releasing team-by-team evaluations highlighting every single prospect in attendance. Here are our evaluations on the prospects that made up Team 3.

Bethley may have been one of the smaller points guards at The Expo, but he was also easily one of the more dynamic playmakers. The floor general from Avon High School impressed with his quick downhill burst and high-level playmaking ability with the ball. He made several flashy passes and was a true shot-creator for himself and teammates. Bethley also knocked down a few outside jumpers and was a crafty finisher around the rim. Currently holds offers from Hanover and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Reed is a 6'0" guard out of Greenwood Christian Academy that played with such a high motor on both ends of the floor at The Expo. He was quick in transition and was also extremely scrappy on the defensive end of the floor. The senior guard showed that he could play both on and off the ball as a productive shot-maker and facilitator. Often times on Sunday evening it was his tough defense that led to his offense. Reed recently received his first offer from Culver-Stockton.

Day is a 6'0" guard out of Jasper High School that has a lot of length for his size at the off-guard spot. He is a pretty athletic guard that plays with a high motor consistently. On Sunday evening he was at his best when he was playing the role of a slasher or cutter, but showed he can create on the ball as well. Day displayed good hands on defense and was not afraid to be aggressive at the point of attack with active hands. His shooting ability could lead to a breakout junior season.

Robb is a 6'1" guard out Mount Vernon (Posey) High School that looked to be about as pure of a true "combo guard" as anyone in attendance at The Expo. He is a guard that likes to attack the defense and use a very consistent floater in the intermediate range. A variety of quick dribble moves and an effective first step allowed him to get a piece of the paint often in 5-on-5 play. When he would play off the ball, he was constantly working to get a free look and would knock down outside jumpers as well. There is a lot to like about his game.

Johnson is a 6'3" guard out of Park Tudor High School that was another very productive perimeter piece for Team 3 at The Expo. While he is still a bit raw in some areas with even more room for growth, his athletic ability and continued skill development has allowed him to blossom into an intriguing Class of 2025 prospect. Johnson some sharp passes on the day and would immediately turn around and be a willing defender. He had an impressive block that really showed off his explosive athletic ability. Look for him to play in an expanded role this season and continue to garner more interest at the small college level.

Jones was one of the more naturally strong and well-built guards we saw at The Expo. A 6'3" prospect out of Center Grove High School, Jones played like a fullback on the court on Sunday evening. He attacked the defense at will and would almost welcome any contact that would come his way. The strong wing is player that wants contact and does a great job of playing through it. With Center Grove losing a lot from last season, Jones will be a player they hope will step into a bigger role this season. He certainly was impressive when doing so this June at the Charlie Hughes Showcase.

Lyon is a 6'6" forward out of Heritage Christian High School that has a ton of length for his size. He protected the rim extremely well on defense and showed off some smooth finishes on the offensive end. The long, lean prospect was one of the better bigs in the Class of 2026 at the event. I thought he worked well off the ball and you could even make a case he could play some wing at certain times as well. There is an intriguing skillset for his size.

Burns was one of my personal favorite players I had the opportunity to watch at The Expo simply because of his incredible athletic ability at his size. He put down a few impressive dunks on the day and used his verticality to be a rim protector on the defensive end as well. The 6'5" forward was always involved in the offensive action whether it was as a scorer or facilitator that really showcased his versatility. You could say he was the wing with the highest motor on Sunday. An under-the-radar wing/forward out of Mooresville High School that small schools need to take a look at.

Taylor is a 6'8" power forward out of Roncalli High School that was certainly one of the more talented front court prospects at The Expo. The junior big man was really good about using his strength to get into post up actions and once he had the ball he would show good footwork to score around the rim. His mobility allowed him to be effective on both ends of the floor as he was a constant paint scorer as well as a rim protector. One of the top 2026 forward we have in the state that should continue to blossom through his junior season with the Royals.
