Texas has an extensive amount of talent entering their high school careers this year. I couldn't be more excited to see it. The handful of players below are going to make themselves known quickly.

Braiden is a talented, versatile combo guard that can make a positive impact on the court for his team in so many ways. He can lead the break down the floor, knock down a much-needed jumper from the corner, and rack up steals without adding to his foul count. He's got solid court awareness for his age and he moves incredibly well without the ball to get to his spots. He can alternate hands if he's in a jam to get the clearest look at the basket available and he doesn't hesitate to drive and kick if he sees a teammate with a better shot opportunity than himself. He possesses a nice skill set in the post as well and he can get streaky hot from beyond the arc in a hurry. I expect Tyerman to get off to a quick start on his high school squad and to keep ascending from there.

Jay is a talented, versatile combo guard that puts in the work and shows it on the court. He can handle the ball incredibly well with both hands and he's got a solid jumper with nice form. He's got a fantastic arc on his shots that keeps him from getting blocked by the tallest of defenders and it's also quite fun to watch. His touch on the ball is graceful and you can tell that's natural and he does it without even trying to. He's long for his age and he uses that to his advantage on both ends of the court. He uses his length in mid-air when driving to the key to adjust his frame to get in position for the best look available. On defense, he uses his impressive reach to swat his opponent's shots and alter their attempts to positions that are nearly impossible to convert from. I expect Darwin to get better with each high school year and to become a household name at Kimball.

Ayden is a fearless, quick guard that elevates his team in every game with his multi-faceted play. He doesn't shy away from contact when driving the lane and he's talented at finishing through the foul, resulting in extra points for his squad that could wind up being the difference in the game. His court vision is excellent and he often finds his teammates through the thinnest of passing lanes and sets them up for success with the perfect dish. He's got a nice reverse layup that's incredibly difficult to guard and he's always the first to a loose ball on the floor. He can create his own shots when his team needs offense and he's incredibly calm under pressure - methodically getting himself out of the toughest of jams consistently. I expect Kirven to have an impact for La Vega immediately and for that to only increase throughout his high school career.

Devon is an impressive, versatile guard that has the size to play forward for his team if need be. He's incredibly long for his age and he uses that effectively on both sides of the ball. He's imposing on defense, guarding his paint and rim with a ferocity that's not common to come across. He glides through the key on the offensive end, using his elite reach to position the ball to an un-blockable position on his shot attempts. He can also knock it down from beyond the arc and he stays ready at all times - quick passes will not catch him off guard. The potential is crazy with Porter and his upside is massive as long as he continues to put in the work behind the scenes. I have no doubt he'll do so and he'll become a household name at Cornerstone Christian in the process.

Enos is a quick, skilled guard that handles the ball extremely well and carries himself with an impressive confidence. He's talented at getting to the line often and knocking down easy points for his squad. He always stays at the ready and is good at moving without the ball to get to his preferred spots. He consistently sets his teammates up for success with quick, efficient dishes on his aggressive drives to the basket. He's a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc and he can get hot in a hurry and stay that way. He's great at running the break and identifying the best opportunity for his team quickly. Romero has a ton of potential that will only grow larger throughout his high school career and I can't wait to see it.
