As the Check Rock League gets ready for playoff action this week, we thought today was the right time to post a review of the prospects who have impressed us during games from weeks three and four.

[player_tooltip player_id='1576719' first='Stephon' last='Ashley-Wright'] – 6'0” / 2026 / Neumann-Goretti / [program_tooltip program_id='2428253' first='Team' last='Final Red'] / Point Guard: This month Ashley-Wright has been tearing up Check Rock League opponents and his fantastic play is a major reason his Earned Capital team holds the No. 2 seed for this week's playoffs. Most recently Ashley-Wright registered a 36-point effort (unofficially) against Oath 84. His speed and insane dribble drive moves make Ashley-Wright one of the most difficult guards to defend in the region. Once he is in the paint, Ashley-Wright can score through fouls or finish with a creative flair to avoid contact. Ashley-Wright sprinkles in enough 3-balls to keep defenders honest.

Da'Shaun Holden – 5'9″ / 2028 / St. Elizabeth's (DE) / Role Model Elite / Point Guard: Holden is a speedy guard with a devastating first step and a deep bag of dribble moves. In the open court he can push the rock at a ridiculous pace for lay-ins or assists. His ability to weave through an entire team on the fast break is impressive. In the half-court those same assets enable Holden to blow past a defender and get into the paint for floaters or lay-ins. Holden excels at converting at the rim among the trees. He is a legitimate three-point threat too. Holden recently impressed at Check Rock with a performance of 18 points and 5 dimes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1848628' first='Kyle' last='Shawaluk'] – 6'5″ / 2025 / Perkiomen School / WeR1 HGSL / Wing: For 2024-25 Shawaluk is taking a post graduate year at Perkiomen School. The Panthers are getting a prospect who has impressed yet again during Check Rock League action. Shawaluk is a long, athletic, and tenacious three level scoring machine. Recently he posted a stat line of 21 points and 7 rebounds at Check Rock. Shawaluk can shoot threes and produce points in transition as well as on straight line drives to the cup. This summer he appears to have added muscle to his frame which will make an already competitive rebounder even better on the boards.
