The annual CBG Fall Series took place again this past weekend at the beautiful Henrico Sports and Events Center, with 4 courts featuring over 40 teams from VA, NC, WV, DC and MD. There were hundreds of future college prospects in attendance, along with over double digit collegiate coaches and multiple national scouts in attendance.

In order to give a thorough breakdown of the many standouts from the event, I will be rolling out standouts all weeks in the different classes. Here's part one of five for some of the many senior standouts from VA teams in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494105' first='Donovan' last='Richardson'] | 6'5” CG | Steward

The Richmond commit was impressive as he usually is at CBG events, showcasing his unique skillset as a big guard who can impact the game in many different ways. At 6'5” he has good wiggle and gets to spots easily off the bounce, he made shots from multiple levels off the bounce, he made plays for others and he was good as a rebounder and defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2571805' first='LJ' last='Vaughn'] | 5'10” PG | Steward

Vaughn was an important piece for Steward off the bench last year, and this season he'll be their primary ball handler and creator which will take a lot of pressure off of Richardson. The 5'10” lead guard is quick off the bounce with the ability to change directions, he showed good finishing ability when he got to the rim, he made plays for others and he set the tone with his scrappy on ball defense too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2452134' first='Ben' last='Vaughn'] | 6'2” WG | Steward

The other Vaughn (no relation) was one of their most improved players over the season last year, and he continues to show improvement as he played with a lot of confidence and was steadily productive. He was their best shooter knocking down shots from deep with ease, he showed good athleticism both getting to the rim and on the defensive end and he made the right play consistently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591317' first='Nate' last='Ament'] | 6'9” WF | Highland School

A big surprise that the top player in the state and one of the top players in the country played well yet again in a CBG event, as his Highland team took on two very good programs in Hopewell and Largo and Ament dominated in both of the games. When it comes to the fastest improving prospect in the country, there's no doubt it's Ament who's adding to his game every day. He made difficult shots from all three levels, he showed his ability to handle and deliver pin point passes in transition, he finished well through contact and he was dominant on the defensive end and rebounding the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1339892' first='Julian' last='Rivera'] | 6'1” PG | Highland School

Rivera is the other playmaker of this group who is often running pick-and-rolls with Ament and is a player who consistently makes winning plays and sets the tone on both ends of the floor. He's a very smart defender who showed his ability to jump passing lanes and get deflections, he got to the paint and made great decisions, he finished well in the midrange with floaters and pull-ups and was a leader in many different ways for them.

Chance Perkins | 6'1” WG | Highland School

Perkins is going to the x-factor for Highland School if they're going to make another run to the state championship this year, and he showed his ability to score it in bunches in their two wins. He has deep range and confidence to let it fly off the catch or off the bounce, he can get by defenders and get to spots in the midrange and he's able to heat up quickly and score it in flurries in which his teammates know to get him the ball when he starts to cook.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956075' first='Mason' last='Patrick'] | 6'4” WF | Trinity Episcopal

Patrick was fantastic for a Trinity team that looks poised to be a tough out this year and were playing without a few key guys, and he looks ready to be the go-to guy for them as a senior leader. At 6'4” he's a big and physical wing who showed his ability to hit the glass and finish through contact, he got by defenders off the bounce to get downhill, he made shots consistently in the midrange area and he showed a good motor on both ends as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2443233' first='Brent' last='Thompson'] | 6'0” PG | Trinity Episcopal

Thompson grew a lot in his junior season at TES and continues to show improvements with his ability to run the show and create for himself and others. The 6'0” lefty is a threat to score it from deep making shots constantly off the bounce, he saw the floor well within sets and created off of pick-and-rolls and DHOs and he brings a bit of toughness with his approach on the defensive end.
