He was edged out by [player_tooltip player_id='1318564' first='Christian' last='Brown'] (James Madison verbal), but our view is not as important to Cade's future as what college coaches think. And they think Cade is the bee's knees. Bennerman flew to Michigan September 13th and continues to enjoy his official visit as of Saturday afternoon. Saturday morning, he watched the Michigan Wolverines practice basketball before walking over to The Big House to witness MIchigan's 28-18 win over Arkansas State University.

Northwestern will host Bennerman and family next weekend, if all the plans commence. University of South Florida (USF) postponed an early September official visit initially on the books. Both Northwestern and USF have offered. North Carolina State evaluated Bennerman in-person, as did many other programs. Duke wants to get in to see him. Purdue sent an assistant and Head Coach Matt Painter will almost certainly evaluate him next week.

"I competed against Gaas [Herman] for the past couple of years," said new Notre Dame Head Coach Matt Matoh. "The thing that drives you crazy is that he can make all the shots that you want another team to take. For us at Baylor...our whole staff had coached college." The goal was to get Gaas, and all players generally to dribble into their shots. Challenge, but don't foul.

"He is one of the best tough shot-makers that I have seen at the high school level," said Coach Matoh of [player_tooltip player_id='1830608' first='Gaas' last='Herman']. "When he gets to 15-17' he is strong enough to get his primary defender off-balance. He has a high release and he elevates enough on his shot. It is really difficult to get to for players his size. He is dunking with two hands. I wouldn't say he is dunking on people. We don't have a whole lot of guys that can match up with him physically."

A week ago [player_tooltip player_id='1830608' first='Gaas' last='Herman'] earned an offer during a Maryville visit.

"I spoke with Coach [Raul] Placeras last week," said Coach Matoh via phone call. "They are a big fan of his game. I think his recruitment is starting to heat up. He made some big strides with his body, explosiveness this summer. I spoke to Coach [Matthew] Richter at Berry. Chase Teichman at Georgia-Gwinnett. I know UTC is gonna come watch pickup at some point this year. He is a super talented player, best mid-range game for anybody I have seen at the high school level in a while."

As a junior, [player_tooltip player_id='1343709' first='Trae' last='Rideau'] (Clarksville Academy) averaged 24 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds per game.

Verbally Committed Players

[player_tooltip player_id='1318564' first='Christian' last='Brown'] - James Madison
[player_tooltip player_id='1211987' first='Cade' last='Capps'] - Trevecca Nazarene
[player_tooltip player_id='1549166' first='Collin' last='O'Neal'] - Furman
[player_tooltip player_id='1318557' first='Tylan' last='Lewis'] - Independence
[player_tooltip player_id='1259392' first='Jeremy' last='Jackson Jr.'] - Trevecca Nazarene
[player_tooltip player_id='2539839' first='Reese' last='Frazier'] - Lee
[player_tooltip player_id='1526361' first='Joshua' last='Spining'] - Sewanee University of the South
