Although April through July are not all officially Summer Months, they contain so much Basketball and are a crucial period for prospects to improve their game and earn interest from College Coaches while school is out. These five players earned a spot on my South Carolina Summer Standouts list by being a top performer in multiple events throughout the summer: at least one with their Grassroots Team in April, May, or July and at least one with their High School Team during the June Scholastic Period. Check out Part 2 of my 2025s:

[player_tooltip player_id='2412585' first='CJ' last='Terrell'] leads off my second list of South Carolina Summer Standouts after a terrific Grassroots Season to help him leap from Unranked to Top 100 in the most recent Prep Hoops SC Rankings. CJ was one of Upward Stars Gold's most consistent players and helped hold down the paint on both ends of the floor. He plays bigger than his listed height because he has great instincts protecting the rim. Terrell also happens to be a knockdown perimeter shooter, which adds a needed piece of versatility to his game.

Rhett has been a consistent performer for Wren High School for the past few seasons and turned into a dominant player for his AAU team this Spring. Playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2163938' first='Next' last='Level Elite'] Royal, Warga was built around so that he could use his talents to the max including passing, defensive versatility, and competitiveness. He also happens to be one of the best charge-takers in the state, an attribute that he will use against quick guards or bigger forwards to neutralize their interior scoring abilities. Rhett recently participated in the Lees-McRae Elite Camp and received an offer from the Bobcats after a strong performance.

Standout Events: Liberty Summer Slam, Phenom Summer Havoc

Bryson took a massive step this Summer and proved to be a key player for both Southside Christian and [program_tooltip program_id='2163938' first='Next' last='Level Elite'] Royal on several occasions. Duck excels as a lead guard and can be trusted to run an offense while keeping all of his teammates involved. Although Bryson is listed at just 5'11", he is a very good finisher around the paint because of his strength and fundamentals. He will play off two feet, finish through contact, and even use some creativity to go around shot blockers. Duck received his first offer from Covenant College after a strong Team Camp with his High School team in June.

Jamari was an important player off the bench for Byrnes in their run to the State Championship last season, but his production this Summer showed he could step into a bigger role this Winter. Cullen is an athletic, slashing, wing who has a balanced skill set and can positively affect the game in multiple ways. On the offensive end, he is an efficient jump shooter, has a nice handle to make plays off the dribble, and is an above-average finisher for a guard around the rim. He also shows some good qualities as a two-way player with good instincts and foot quickness on defense.

Owen first stood out to me during the Prep Hoops Showcase near the end of his Junior Season and he continued that play into the Summer. He plays for Team Hustle based out of the York County area and he is a perfect player for them because he helps them live up to their name. Galeota is frequently the first on the floor to a loose ball and is a major contributor on the glass. He is versatile on the offensive end with his combination of size and strength as well as his skill from the perimeter or around the basket.
