One thing that makes Prep Hoops so different than others that cover high school basketball is our in depth state rankings that we update three to four times a year. With a new update coming in the next month or so, we decided to take a look at some of the shakeups as far as transfers and recluses will have on the rankings.

To be clear, this list is only for transfers coming into the state, not transfers within or out of the state. It also won't include post grad players who have already graduated high school and will be doing a fifth year at the powerhouse military academies we have in our state.

With that being said, here's a look at part one of some of the players we are aware are transferring in or moving classes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2021821' first='Courtland' last='Muldrew'] | 6'3” CG | Oak Hill '25

Muldrew is one of a number of talented players transferring into Oak Hill to play on their national team, and the Arkansas native will have a chance to show what he can do on the biggest stage in high school basketball. The four star combo is getting recruited by much of the SEC as he's a naturally pure scorer who shoots it well from deep, plays with great pace, has a great IQ and understanding of how to get shots off and he can score it from all over the floor.

KJ Anderson | 6'7” WF | Oak Hill Red '25

The Oak Hill Red team has shown a lot of improvement over the last few years, and they add another intriguing piece in Anderson who hails from Long Island but transfers in via the Knox School in Tennessee. Anderson is a big wing at 6'7” with a great frame for the game with long arms, he is a mismatch at his size who can knock down shots and put it on the deck, he's an athletic finisher in transition and a good passer as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370507' first='Shane' last='Pendergrass'] | 6'8” PF | Hargrave '26

Pendergrass transfers to Hargrave where he'll play up on their post grad team, and he's one of the fastest rising prospects on the east coast after being a standout at Mt. Zion High School in Maryland and after a huge summer with DC Premier. Pendergrass has always been skilled for his size but now that he's grown into his body he looks much more fluid and explosive as an athlete, he's improved on his ability to create shots for himself off the bounce, he makes shots at a high clip from deep and he's a versatile defender as well.

Kosi Mgbejiofor | 6'9” C | Blue Ridge '26

Mgbejiofor will rejoin the 2026 rankings after a one year hiatus where he transferred to Winston Salem in North Carolina, and him attending Blue Ridge could be the best situation as they have a track record of developing bigs much like himself. The sky is the ceiling for him as he's a fluid and explosive athlete the likes you often don't see in players his size, he's an elite rim protector and finisher above the rim, he has soft touch and a lot of room for growth moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595768' first='Wade' last='Bland'] | 6'1” PG | Stuart Hall '26

Bland will transfer to Stuart Hall from Blacksburg where he'll reclassify to the 2026 class after being one of the top guards in the New River Valley the last few years. Bland is a high IQ guard who sees the floor well and makes good decisions, he changes speeds well and works well in the pick-and-roll and he can move off the ball where he's a knock down shooter as well.

Ladarius Givan | 6'8” PF | John Marshall '26

Givan moved to Richmond from Alabama over the summer and will attend powerhouse John Marshall who has won four straight state championships, and will form one of the most feared front courts in not just the state but the entire country. Already committed to Mississippi State and a consensus nationally ranked recruit Givan is a fluid athlete who looks natural on the court, he plays above the rim and attacks the glass, he scores it well in the mid-post area and he can stretch the floor from deep as well.

Ryder Zingelmann | 6'5” WF | Liberty Christian ‘26

Zingelmann transfers to LCA from Charlotte and gives new Head Coach Matt Klein another talented piece in the 2026 class to build the program with. The 6'5” wing has good size and a frame that should continue to fill out, he's a knock down shooter from deep with good range, he can get to the pull-up in the midrange area and he brings some scrappiness to him as well.
