[player_tooltip player_id='2194833' first='Tyler' last='Barnes'] was excellent on Saturday and quickly emerged as one of the most talented guards in attendance. Barnes is a natural scorer that can hit contested shots off the bounce or break defenders down and get to the rack. He can switch gears in a split-second and keeps defenders on their toes with different speeds. Barnes picked up his first offer from Coastal Carolina a day prior to the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194853' first='Charles' last='Matthews'] recently transferred to Westlake by way of IMG Academy and he used the platform on Saturday to wake up the state. Matthews is a big athletic guard that can play above the rim and score from all three levels. He proved capable of finishing tough lays through traffic and flashed the bounce whenever he could get to the launch pad. Matthews should make an immediate impact as a sophomore at Westlake this year.

Not many players helped themselves on Saturday as much as [player_tooltip player_id='2521052' first='Marcus' last='Curry'] did. The Grovetown guard made a strong case for Camp MVP as he was scoring at will all afternoon. He's creative with his handle and can elevate over defenders to knock down tough shots. Curry has great size and athleticism for a guard at 6'5, making for a very high ceiling. When our 2027 rankings update, Curry will be one of the top guards on the list.

[player_tooltip player_id='2243047' first='Caleb' last='Wells'] is rising quickly up the 2027 board after a great month of June and a strong showing at the Sophomore ID Camp. Wells looks taller every time I see him, now up to 6'6. Yet, he's maintained the guard skills and found new ways to be effective at his size. He was filling up the scoresheet, several strong drives and a couple tough shots off the bounce. Wells offers a ton of versatility on the defensive end too, able to guard 1-4 effectively. He could be in for a breakout year at Seckinger.

[player_tooltip player_id='2102290' first='Brock' last='Bass-Bonner'] came into Saturday's event as the highest ranked player on the list and he played up to that status. Bass-Bonner is a big strong athlete that pairs above the rim athleticism with a solid perimeter skillset. His handle looked much tighter on Saturday than it has in the past and he shot it really well off the dribble. Bass-Bonner now enters his sophomore year at North Cobb Christian where he could have all-state potential.
