PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2028 Freshman Showcase Preview

The Class of 2028 is getting set to show up on high school campuses across Oregon, and according to those who follow youth basketball, there's some good depth and some talent that could make an immediate impact on the court in the 2024-25 season. Many of the top future freshmen from Oregon will be competing under one roof on Sunday at the second-ever PrepHoops Oregon Freshman Showcase, being held at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA.
We haven't made an initial rankings for the Class of 2028 yet but the showcase will give us an idea where to start things off. What we have learned is that this group of incoming freshman has some guys who not only played for some high level club programs but were very successful on the AAU circuit. Gresham's

and Churchill's Luke Read both played with famed Seattle Rotary and both come to high school with plenty of fanfare as arguably the favorites as the top guard and top big man in the class. . Wilsonville big man Michael Ratliffe turned some heads in June ball this summer with the Wildcats and a wildcard entry in the entire event will be 6-foot-8 Moon Yue, a native of China who's headed to the Phelps School in Pennsylvania this upcoming season.
Overall from Oregon, there is plenty of representation from the city of Portland and the PDX metropolitan area but prospects from as far as Bend, Medford, and the Oregon coast will also make the journey to Beaverton to participate. A full list of attendees can be found here.
The showcase will take place from 9 am to 2 pm and spectators are free to attend. College coaches will be in attendance and games will also be streamed on BallerTV.
