There's always a need for big men at all levels in college, so today we're going to take a look at just a few of the top scoring big men in the Hampton Roads area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494107' first='Silas' last='Barksdale'] | 6'8” | Woodside '25

Barksdale has helped lead Woodside to two straight state championships and has been one of [program_tooltip program_id='2226248' first='Boo' last='Williams'] most consistent players over the last few years. He's a highly sought after prospect who can score the ball with both hands around the rim, he can finish above the rim both in transition and on duck-ins and he can step out where he has good touch around the rim too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494114' first='David' last='Miller'] | 6'7” | Green Run '25

Miller has been one of the most consistent players in the Beach District over the last few years, as he's started at Green Run since he was a freshman and is one of the toughest players to guard in that area. He has brute strength to finish around the rim and in traffic, he has good bounce to get up above the rim and hit the offensive glass and he can step out where he can knock down shots as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956068' first='Jeremiah' last='Morris'] | 6'8” | King's Fork '25

Morris has been one of the most improved players over the past year or so, as he's improved his body quite a bit and become quicker and more athletic in the paint and in face up situations. He can put it on the deck and use his frame to create space around the rim, he's a good rebounder on the offensive end, he has good touch with both hands and he can work in the midrange as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2452264' first='Justin' last='Ellis'] | 6'7” | Kellam '25

Ellis is one of the more underrated and up and coming big men in the Beach District, and he's coming off a great summer where he showed his ability to score the ball in a number of ways. He's a big bodied post player who takes up space and can clear out space for rebounds and finishes, he has good touch out past the three point line and he gets to the line often and shoots a good percentage as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459215' first='Gavin' last='Kay'] | 6'8” | Hampton '26

Kay played a big role in Hampton winning the Class 4 state championship last season, and he still has a lot of upside with his blend of size, athleticism and natural skill set. He's able to face up on slower big men and can put it on the deck with the ability to get by his defenders, he's an athletic finisher above the rim and he should be able to add some range to his shot with time.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194707' first='Jordyn' last='Houston'] | 6'7” | Woodside '27

Houston is another state champion from last year with Woodside and he played a very good role as a freshman, and his ability to naturally score the ball was impressive for someone his age. He's a high IQ player who knows how to move off the ball to get open when his guards are driving, he has great touch with both hands around the rim and can score it in the midrange and he has great instincts as an offensive rebounder as well.
